Signal jammer used in cartel hit

yep no more smoke signals . they are moving on up

lol

Its an of the shelf Chicom jammer you can buy on Aliexpress for cca 500$, would be surprised if these things did not get used for such applications sooner than later, altough the range is fairly limited so it would have to be placed practically inside the killbox

Most of the higher power stuff that's easy to access is Italian. Or, that was the case a year or two ago when I had to worry about this shit. The best hardware I saw demonstrated was Israeli.

Will customs seize it and or have FDAs swat team show up at your door if you order one ?

I don't know. What I do know is, that, and much better gear makes it's way into the US.

Friends introduced me to a guy who was head of security for a very wealthy East Coast guy, a Wall St. guy.

I'm not very knowledgeable about weapons but, this guy, who knew a lot about RF hardware, had a semi auto handgun on his belt. I could see the butt of the gun poke into his sweater when he turned at the waste.

He'd purchased a $30k Spectrum Analyzer from my friends the previous month and had flown back to the West Coast for more gear. His employer had a team of 6 people protecting him. 3 were on duty at any given time. He lived in some sort of "compound" in an expensive area in the upper East Coast.

This guy had his RF neighborhood covered. Most of the hardware that might be difficult to buy here in the US was bought in Europe or the Mid East and, was purchased in person by his team using his private jet for transport. He said, it was never inspected.

He told me of a trip they made to EU, where off duty police in the country visited were hired to assist his people in protecting his employer. He said, they traveled with a lot of weapons and were greeted at the airport by the hires and never inspected.

This is stuff that I don't know a lot about. I doubt this guy was BSing as he was a long time client of my friends. I did look up the name of his employer and, the guy was very, very wealthy and fairly young.

Others on this board would know more about this stuff than I do. But, given the money and access to a jet, you can probably get lots of "special stuff".

Yeah, I saw that film.

This guy sold securities to big groups, like States and The Catholic Church. Not a high profile type, just the opposite.

I read, that he got in to trouble with the Feds over some dealings. This was years back, I don't remember his name.

edit
It's been years but, I had a look. I think, this might be "the guy". It seems, he had big problems and got into big trouble.

The cartels are in the US

I’ll say it- legalize it

$1,800 for 1,000 grams in Bolivia - less than $2 gram

$50 gram here- lots of tax for the government for treatment and other stuff

defund the cartel. Let Phillip Morris sell blow legally

I recall reading an article about San Fran (I think) suspending sales tax on Mary Jane sales so legit dealers could compete with cartels. How long before cartels make the legit dealers offers they can't refuse and once again have a monopoly?

How long before the state gubment follows the lead of big brother and turns a blind eye………..until said dealer/s are profitable enough that a raid would net them real dollars? Sounds like the 80s all over again with the exception of the state isn’t using confiscated money to fund a war haha. Well at least for now

Wow, so those actually jam up a pretty broad spectrum, at least everything they use in Mexico. Am I reading that correctly 5G?
Depending on the type they can pretty much jam everything wireless from GPS ,WIFI ,4G ,5G etc. but you are talking at an effective radius of maybe 50m with these smaller units , the wearable ones even less. Jammers need lots of power to cover any range.

But that is enough for anyone being engaged to be without coms for the duration of the attack. As i imagine the cartels use jammers that do not leave emergency channels open.

Could it jam a policeman's radio? And is its use detectable?

No public safety uses (mostly) P25 radios on a different band and protocol.
But if you have $39 you can:

Can a jammer be detected?
You mean can I find a gaggle of radio transmitters at one location who are individually stronger than any other signal in the area?
A major cell provider will notice it within a second and locate it quickly (seconds) after that.
Most public safety agencies are not equipped to rapidly identify and locate a jammer.

Legalize all of it. Tax none of it. Currently, anyone can essentially get anything they want.

Second rate shit, but it does work. The worry comes when you start seeing 12-18" Mw dishs. If that shit starts here you best have a plan "B" as the norm is to kill all RF, to get control back. This includes rides,...
Are you a HAM?

I remember one of the games they played was to find the transmitter. All this is legal by the way. You would go somewhere and just stay there. You would transmit X time and the other guys would try to find your location. It sounded like fun when my friend told me about it.

I looked into it, but that hobby is pretty expensive, and I have enough going on.
