Accuracy International AT-X

Sorry to hijack thread but what is the tap needed on a AXMC forward grip not hand guard.

either screw or threads are buffered up (maybe by me who knows) but I want to buy a tap and run it through

thanks

Maybe we should have 2022 colors?
Any suggestions?

Some sort of camo pattern. I'd use the same pattern that you used on the Team AI AT-X. Instead of black, grey, and red; I'd offer that pattern in varied browns and tans. Maybe with FDE base and two lighter brown/tan. Or could do that same thing with the greens.

Bare rifle as is ~13lbs. Does anyone know what the rifle weights without the factory barrel?

Tom,

Left handed in the works at all?
Our primary focus right now is to get the first production deliveries started in the USA and I will provide an update on that by Friday.
Next priority is to freeze the design of Remington 700 pattern AICS and release for production to start delivery in Q4. Remember, that means Q4, not necessarily October.
We also have to set up for AT-X production in the UK so we can start delivering in Q4 as well.
All of the above required and requires prototype testing, pre production and CNC programming for production. It all takes time and effort but once we have it set up and production started in both the USA and UK then product will flow.
We have identified product family extensions and those will be engineered next.
In answer to your left hand question I can tell you that it is not a current project but it will be next year. We are going to use the AXSR hinge which can be changed from right to left. The magazine release is ambidextrous. We have made a left hand AT bolt and action already so have the basis of a left hand version.
We do have what we consider more important projects and those will be worked on first.
I hope that gives you some insight into what we are doing.
Oh, I will be thinking about 2022 colors in the middle of all this.
We have taken the AT-X from a design concept in late 2019 to first production deliveries in mid 2021. I can tell you that 20 month is a short time for an activity which will be the first civilian competition rifle produced by Accuracy International in 40 years.

I just wanted to show you the first red Cerakote parts. More on the way.
Because of the extremely high demand for hard coat anodized components right now the lead times are horrendous.
We are doing everything possible to get chassis parts anodized and the next step is Cerakote.
After Cerakote the components are shipped to AINA for rifle assembly where AT actions, bolts, barrels, triggers, etc. are waiting.
It is a challenge but we will overcome it. I still want to deliver some AT-X rifles in June.

Can I buy direct from WIN TAC since I’m 5min from them?!?
Win Tactical is a supplier to Accuracy International.
They are a machine shop producing chassis components, chambering and threading barrels and are an Authorized Cerakote Applicator.
They are not a distributor and you cannot purchase AI rifles directly from them.
They are in the process of setting up a website and in the coming months you will be able to purchase AI barrels, weights and certain accessories for AT-X and AX Series rifles and AICS.
Send me a message if you live so close.

As promised, here is an update on delivery of the AT-X.
You can see, from recent post, there are lots of chassis parts coming through in red and dark earth. We also have actions, bolts, barrels, triggers and several other parts. The one component we are still waiting on is the front upper chassis but I am pleased to say that we are now getting the first nearly completed components from our new CNC machine at Win Tactical. There is still one minor operation, deburring, sandblasting and anodizing before they can be Cerakoted.
Every effort has been made to start delivery of the AT-X in Q2 but that finishes on June 30 and I can now tell you that we will not make it. I am sorry for that.
Based on the current situation I can tell you that the first production AT-X rifles will be assembled and tested in Fredericksburg immediately after July 4 and shipped to our distributors. It will be a small quantity and then followed by increasing quantities in July. We will be up to full production by August and plan to ship all of the first orders by the end of September.
Red and Dark Earth will be first, followed by Elite Sand, Blue and Black.
For the next production, there are some minor internal changes to the front chassis which will require reprogramming the CNC machines so a short break in production is expected. The second production run is still planned for completion by the end of 2021. That will cover all orders placed to date.
I hope that gives you a good ideal of where we are and helps you plan for your matches and general enjoyment of this new AI rifle.
I can assure you we at AI and Win Tactical have been working tirelessly to bring the AT-X to the market in Q2 but we just did not make it. We would not deliver anything unless we are sure it meets the high standards of AI.
The AICS version will come next and then..........

Great update and we all know they will be well worth the wait. I am curious about the comment that the front chassis will undergo a minor internal change, can you share what that "change" will be or is it something cosmetic? Thanks again and keep up that awesome work Tom. I for one cant wait to get my first AI.

Hi Tom,
What’s a realistic date for shipment to Australia for Delta Tactical…..hit me with it, I don’t mind but I’m assuming probably early 2022? Exciting times but just a realistic answer be much appreciated. Cheers Luke!

Tom - can you confirm that any design changes aren't due to a structural or other "issue" discovered with the current design?

Just pre-ordered an FDE from MH. Was gonna get an AT but after going through this whole thread and watching X-ring's videos there's no chance of that happening anymore.

Man, haven't been this excited about a pre-order in a LONG time.

Update on AT-X production first deliveries.
We are very close to assembly and test of the first AT-X production rifles. The attached photo shows the most complicated and final component to reach the Cerakote stage. The first 16 front, upper chassis components will be shipped from Win Tactical to AINA in Fredericksburg, VA today and assembly will start next week. After assembly and test the first 16 rifles will be shipped to our distributors and that will be the week after next.
Some more will follow this month and output will ramp up in August with all of the first production lot being delivered by September.

Frothing over getting these to Australia... Great work AI, they look excellent.
Will be selling the AXSA in favour of the AT-X and a couple of bolt bodies for the AXSR.

Hi Tom--does this mean the first dark earth are in August September? Or are you guys still going to ship some in July?
