Savage smr10

What ammunition has the best MOA for the Savage smr10
Savage says that gun is .308win and not 7.62 NATO. Oddly enough, the two .308win AR10 guns I have shoot ammo loaded with 175 grain Sierra Match kings better than they shoot ammo loaded with the 168s. Keep in mind that unless you have some range time on ar10 type guns, they can be a bit harder to shoot accurately than your favorite bolt gun. Though inexpensive guns, the Savage guns I've owned/seen are pretty accurate.

Thanks eastexsteve I havent put a lot of Range time with my SMR10 / 22inch barrel but I have DPMs 308 with a flutted SS barrel on it and was easier for me to get it closer to 1 MOA . at one hundred yards . I am sure with a little more time I will get this one a little tighter (SMR 10 ) and further distances its just a little tougher now that ammo is harder to come by . What are some your tightest groups at say 200 yards ,(If you dont mind me asking ). I am just trying to get a base line Thanks Dan

The two 308 AR guns I have are 2A Armament Xanthos with 18" barrels. I originally bought one for my wife, and liked it so well that I bought another for myself to use for heavy irons class 3gun. Since then, I've put some decent optics on it. The problem I have with them is they are extremely light and hard to keep steady if you try to do any kind of precision shooting with them. If I can get a good rest, I can keep them at or just under 1 MOA on a good day. I have a full size IDPA/IPSC steel target hung out on my range at 880 yards. I have no problem keeping the 175s uniformly grouped center mass.
