Norway Man Kills Several People with Bow and Arrow

What the fuck? Just found out about this, town 30 miles south of me (work there)

I’m honestly surprised this doesn’t happen more, a modern compound with mechanicals it’s a pretty fucking wicked combination.

That’s pretty much the equivalent of twisting a 2” wide dagger in somebody.

I guess the ShotSpotter was taken out of the equation.

It's illegal to hunt deer with more than 10 arrows and if you can't hit a deer in three arrows you shouldn't be hunting. So, why can someone have a 30 arrow quiver to hunt humans. This is ridiculous!!! What about the children?! (Sarcasm alert)

Need common sense bow and arrow control, nobody needs a compound bow and broadheads to hunt a deer ... those are tactical assault bows
Bow hunting is illegal over here, because feelings...

Well now, he was all bow-ed up about something.

Tagged out day 1....as much as that's impressive, it sure sucks.

Cause the last thing we need is a thread titled "WTB Best broadheads for blondes"...

A friend had an arrow break while shooting and it went through his hand like that picture. Gold Tip payed for his medical bills.
It was about six months later that he pulled a three inch sliver of carbon fiber from the wound. It was pretty knarly how the broken end went through. Like I said. I'll take the broadhead or a field point if I have the choice. After his incident I changed to Easton a/c/c's. Best we could figure was that while shooting 3D his arrow must have taken a hit from another arrow weakening it.

I was walking to my tree stand and the arrow fell from my quiver and I walked into it. It must have fallen nock down and when I walked into it I thought it was just a twig pushing against my thigh until I looked down. Ohh shit!! This is not good! My hunting bud looked back and turned white. I told him that it's about to get real. That if I hit the femoral artery we have a few minutes. I dropped my pack and safety harness and cut off one of the straps. I made a tourniquet and told him I was going to pull it out. If it's pumping to cinch it till it stops. Thank God it just ran out and we cut my pants leg off to make a bandage.
Ok, I'll go. HTF did that happen?
Made it back to the farm and the rescue squad was there in a few minutes. Dude removed the makeshift bandage for a clean dressing then started digging around in the wound with his finger. WT holy fuck are you doing? I asked. "Looking for the broadhead" he said. Hey dumbass they are razor blades and I don't want to mix your blood with mine. Besides I already removed it.
That was more painful than anything.
Fun times.

No more concealed bow carry, no handbows, no bow bump stocks, no bows painted black...

When I lost the joy of firearms, I used a recurve and a compound bow for hunting.
A police officer friend argued that my bow couldn't damage his stab proof vest.
We set it up in the paddock, and he launched an arrow into it.
Glad he had to explain what happened to his issued gear.
A lot of energy in an arrow, not to mention a nasty arrowhead.
😈

There was a (possibly apocryphal) story about the US army testing big fuck off warbow arrows against armour, and they outperformed all small arms ammunition.

There's actually fuck all KE on most arrows compared with firearms because the IBO speed limit is something like 350fps and KE is so biased towards velocity. I forget the weight of my racing arrows, something like 400gr.

I think it's more to do with the way arrows arrive slowly and don't splatter like bullets do, I suspect the long thin nature of the arrow allows it to hit the target and elastically deform which makes it more of a maintained push than an impact.

Hell ya! I'd rather have the hydraulic shock and fairly instant shut down from a fired round. Any of those arrows, might not feel them pass through, but you're gonna watch yourself bleed out or suffocate from your lungs filling up.

"The man arrested Wednesday had been on the security agency’s radar, but the agency did not say why. Police described him as a Muslim convert who was previously flagged as having been radicalized."

No stereotypes there. No "perpetuation of inevitability" either. And absolutely nothing suspicious of a Norway'ian (Norweigian?) named "Shalabadang Mohomed-Mohomed-Afredo-Mohomed Skipityboop" or whatever it is they'll eventually not disclose as the 'alleged' perpetrator's label/name/moniker.

I want to go back to Finland,Norway and Sweden, to see what it's like now.

Yet another reason to carry concealed, regardless of the law. Find cover with a good vantage point. Cover your face too. Pop the motherfucker in the head, and vanish into the crowd, or down a side street, alley, rear personnel platform of a slow moving garbage truck, whatever. Change your mask and clothing. Do NOT be a fucking hero. Do NOT seek media attention. Do NOT talk to law enforcement. And ABSOLUTELY DO NOT talk about this shit to your friends, coworkers, even family, because you might not know which dingleberry among them might turn you in. "I don't know nuffin. I ain't seen nuffin. I ain't heard nuffin". That is your mantra. Piece of shit would be lying dead right there in the street, with no one coming forward with information at all. As a matter of fact, if this had happened in a place where I may be situated in a dwelling or building, with access to my own hunting bow, I'd fucking kill him with one of my own broadheads from a window, for sheer comedy's sake so the world can have something to laugh at for the next few weeks or so.

Most recent updates say that a police officer or store security guard was one of the people he shot first, through the back. Victim is in critical condition. All other victims are in the 50-70 year age range. Piece of shit had deliberately sought out passerby who were walking slowly without much situational awareness and ambushed them, then got in his car, drove around, and stalked other targets before getting out to shoot again.

Fuckface also used field points, not broadheads.

Careful with your arrows. They're somewhat traceable with the lot numbers on them. They just busted a poacher here using them to track the store they went to and confirmed the purchase. Its circumstantial, but a lead that worked in this case to help pin him down none the less. Im fine with the fucker getting busted, just sayin. Its a screened number on the shaft, plan accordingly.

It's cheesy but it's about right. If you want to shoot something hiding behind armour and dirt... Use a bow.

Old timey movie

Yep, those were the legendary weapons tests of the 1960s where they also gave the Davy Crockett nuclear bazooka a few shots when the nuke guys had their turn. Bullets from .45 service auto, carbine, and .30-06/.308 rifle spent their energy in the dirt box. Made a heck of a crater in the dirt, but did not go through. Broadheads work by slicing, so they skimmed straight through the dirt and smacked the plate at the backstop.

I think US special forces had a standard issue bow well up into the 2000s. Gary Paulsen mentioned how the epoxy-on MA-3 double blade broadhead were US Armed Forces issue in the late 1990s in his Hatchet series of novels when Brian was setting up his archery equipment before heading up north to visit his Cree trapper friends in Canada during his summer vacation. In China right now, passing a strenuous archery course and examination is required for all PLA infantry and combat roles. The PLA and Wu Jing armed police have specialized archery units for clandestine operations. During the Mekong River campaign in 2011 to capture a notorious Thai drug lord who had killed a dozen Chinese fishermen, the PLA began their raid on the drug kingpin's fortified compound by neutralizing several guards on the outer perimeters with arrows. One man aimed at one target in a prearranged setup. Everyone shoots on command. The outer perimeter is wiped out immediately, and then the regular PLA infantry from the assault teams stormed the compound. The operation was successful and the drug kingpin was brought to stand trial in Guangzhou for the massacre, whereupon he and several of his henchmen were sentenced to death by firing squad in 2012.

Great... Now they'll be coming for our high capacity quivers. Who needs to hunt with more than 3 arrows?

Naw, here in sweden one pf our non-skiers was just convicted of stabbing seven random people in broad daylight, but it was not classed as terrorism because reasons.
