Hi I bought a bighorn origin action for my first custom rifle and probably only custom gun. And now I’m thinking I should’ve gotten a different action like a zeus or something I guess I’m having buyers remorse I like everything about the origin control round feed aics mags and swap bolt heads did I make a bad choice or what?

How often do you think you would switch barrels?
I own both a zeus and a tl3. I've actually switched the barrel on the tl3 more than the zeus. Run the origin and down the road get another action that catches your attention.
Yeah everything I read said for the money the origin was hard to beat and I like everything about it and I probably will only change barrels once I shoot one out
Don't get me wrong, I think the Zeus quick change feature is amazing. I put a rifle together with no action wrench, no vise, and no torque wrench. So easy a caveman could do it! But I own all those tools, so

.I don’t have an action wrench but I’ll get one and I got a friend who has a vice I can use so barrel swapping would be too bad just couldn’t do it at home lol

I don’t have my action yet I’m still waiting on it bighorn is backed up like 15 weeks so I’ve had a lot of time to think lol
as much as i like joel and the terminus. i'm going origin all day.
i actually went 'backwards' from a TL3 to an origin to match the bolt handle sweep of my RimX
now my Mausingfield on the other hand is a different beast completely but it doesnt really compare to much else

It's a great action, stop seeking confirmation from strangers on the internet.
If you don't like it, then sell it and get something else. Not the end of the world. Don't overthink it.
Didn’t you not like the tl3? Because I’m thinking of getting a tl3 and cancel my origin but idk if I’m gaining that much to justify the price and I’ve never had a custom gun. Not have I ever felt one
the recoil lug matters zero to me. i'm not swapping barrels until it's shot out
but the RimX 22lr and Origin share the same swept bolt hande versus the TL3 which is straight so it's burely a matching thing. performance there is no difference
the new origins are SS now too of that matters
O awesome because that was one of the reason I thought about getting the tl3 but I’ll keep my origin and shoot it…it should be here soon
Plenty of aftermarket actions are machined well enough to accept third party barrels, like from PVA even. It’s not as marketable as the Zeus system but works just as well. Unless the decision comes down to aesthetics and you like the looks of the Zeus better just stick with what you already have. Or what you have in order…
I don't get the remorse part Is something not working the way you wanted ? maybe it was installed wrong , Just trying to understand why you would pay for something then regret doing so unless you fired it and did not like the feel it's a bolt action just like the other you mentioned I own the tl3 and I can't imagine how anything could be smoother from the start it felt like butter now after a several thousand rounds it's never failed to impress and is only getting better if such a thing Is possible but no matter which action I had gotten defiance or they all sounded really good I could have gone any way they are actions as long as they open and close what else do you want it to do .shoot yours enjoy it you paid for it love it . best of luck and much success oh send pics .
I will when I get everything in and and the Zeus just looks cooler but has nothing other then the quick change feature. The origin has everything I want
Keep repeating that to yourself and stop thinking about a feature that you will rarely, if ever, use. You aren't a NASCAR crew chief changing barrels. Go shoot your rifle. You will have plenty more important things to worry about trying ti hit targets.
