Maggie’s Socially UNacceptable Humor

My dad was driving around and saw some "out of state" hunters on land we controlled with guns during pheasant season. In South Dakota it's legal to cross on to someone elses' land/fence to retrieve downed game, but you can't take guns while doing it, that constitutes trespass and/or illegal hunting without permission. He confronted them, they got belligerent when he told them they were breaking the law, and pointed their shotguns at him. Dad stood his ground, they left and got arrested later in the day for it. I never really heard what happened after that, other than it went to court and they were "convicted", of what I'm not sure, probably just got a fine.

Pointing a firearm at someone - loaded or not - is felony assault.

Sooooo..... In most states is 1st Degree Felony Assault.

Those two could be up shit creek without a paddle.

Everyone has their opinion about Rittenhouse, and one of the most amazing things is that the kid never points the weapon at anyone until he's going to actually shoot them (that I saw).

It's important to keep in mind: Do not point a weapon at anyone until you are going to shoot them. I always hold it in back unholstered just so that I'm not obviously brandishing, and I'm definitely not pointing it at anyone. Can someone potentially jump me before I shoot them? Sure. ...but you also have to not go to prison.
