    Little update for anyone in the future. I loaded up some test loads. 46.3gr CFE223 grouped the tightest. But best group I could get was 1.5+ MOA. While my tried and true 168gr load shot sub 1/2 MOA on a hot and dirty barrel.

    whats a good press for newbr?

    I started with a Hornady LNL single stage. Its nice for doing small batches (<50) of rifle rounds. It get to be pretty tedious and tiresome to do pistol brass, and I can only manage to do around 100 before getting tired of it.

    I usually shoot 168-175gr bullets through my 700 Varmint. But I received some free 150gr SP bullets from hornady. Any decent load data to load them to with CFE223 or IMR4895. For reference I load 168BTHP hornady's with 40.0gr 4895 and 44gr CFE.

    Cfe-223

    I've only shot a handful of test loads with it in my .308. Cleaned gun before and after. Didn't seem any cleaner than H4895. Not going out of my way to find it, but will use if the price is right. I should also add, load light and work your way up. The time I hit 48gr behind a 168gr Hornady...

    308 over pressure?

    FWIW, I am using that powder and that bullet in a 700 varmint. 40.0grs gives me sub-MOA accuracy.

    Remington 9 1/2 Large Rifle Primer Misfires

    To the OP, I've have the same problem. Loaded 200 rounds with Rem 9 1/2, and at least 20 did not go off. Loaded 200 the same way with CCI 200, and they all went off. I tossed the rest of my Remington primers in a box to be used in desperate times it need be.
