SIG Cross - jam nut / extension removal?

On the Cross, you don't need the barrel in the receiver or proper barrel nut torque to check headspace. Similar to an MSR, HS can be easily checked with just barrel and bolt. I don't have an action wrench either for the Cross, which inserts into the barrel extension, which contains the locking...

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

The ejector(s) have a fairly long roll pin but was actually easy to take out and put back in even though there are two ejectors. I cut down a .308 case and use a plastic wood clamp & the cut down case to collapse the ejectors taking spring tension off the ejectors. Then small punch to remove...

    New Sig CROSS

I can get that measurement for you later since I have a spare barrel laying in the bench. 1.00”

    New Sig CROSS

The original barrel was headspaced to my bolt, but I’m not sure on the OG barrels’ thread concentricity on either the barrel or extension. I typically check all my rifles’ headspace upon first out of the box cleaning. I’m afraid to confess how much money I have in head space gauges.

SIG Cross - jam nut / extension removal?

Thanks for the update...I"m curious what the armorer says. I think Sig has failed here because the manual clearly mentions: "changing the barrel" in section 7.3, pp. 94-100. When I changed the barrel on mine, to include the new factory affixed extension, my bolt did not headpace to the new...

SIG Cross - jam nut / extension removal?

I've looked everywhere as well for jam nut torque, and I haven't found it either. I ended up using 75 ft-lb on the extension jam nut, but it was a guess. I was going to send Sig a request for that data since they checked headspace on my rifle when it went back to them...assuming they removed the...

    New Sig CROSS

I bought the barrel assembly from Osage County Guns in MO. They sell a lot of Sig parts and one can buy a barrel with the extension on it for around $429.

    New Sig CROSS

I thought I would update my previous posts. I wish I had a little more info, but I'll share what I have. In previous posts, I discussed the extreme out of alignment of my bore and optic exampled in the problem that I couldn't zero all but one optic which was an Eotech Vudu 5-25 with an actual 25...

SIG Cross - jam nut / extension removal?

12 point 1 1/16" box wrench. If you have an action wrench that fits from the stock side that is great. If not, you will probably have get creative holding the extension when you reassemble and tighten back down, but taking it off is super easy. My 12 point Jam nut was super loose. I left the...

    Looking for some advice

Mike, I believe that is a Remington 700 Varmint, which is basically a 26" SPS or 700P without the various stocks, threaded muzzles and finishes. They are typically good shooters. You could probably find a KRG bravo stock between $300-$350 and then decide on the optic of choice/budget (Check the...

Thoughts on the Aero Precision SOLUS ?

I “gambled” and picked up a Solus. Put a 24” Proof CF, Savage pre-fit in 6.5 CM on it. It is in a KRG Bravo stock with TT trigger. I really like the hanger system. I shot a variety of ammo through it suppressed and unsuppressed. The Proof is super accurate. My older Prime 130s shot .3 moa at...

    LaRue Costa

After painfully watching that video. You better not shoot it. Somebody - maybe somebody in that audience - will someday give you premium coin for it. Any chance you can forge Costa's signature on one of the recievers?

New to gas guns, 6mm arc build advice

I'm shooting an 18" and 20" out to 1200 yds with 108 ELD-Ms. Both achieve 1200 yds insanely easily. I might even choose a 16" if I was just going out to 1K and hunting suppressed. Larue just came out with a complete 16", 6 ARC upper. I know of a couple of "Grendel Hunter" uppers which have had...
