    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

Looks like they are both available without a mount or QD and both have swivel and cant. http://www.operationparts.com/psr-atlas-bipod-no-clamp-for-bt19-adm-170-s-arms-17s-tramp-lt171/ http://www.operationparts.com/atlas-bipod-no-clamp-for-bt19-adm-170-s-arms-17s-tramp-lt171/ This post did...

The farthest distance range nearby is 200 yards. Zeroing at 100 isn't a problem.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

The BT35 LW17 is outside of the budget. Right now the debate is between the Accu Tac SR-5 and an Atlas. I am currently trying to understand the difference between the BT-10 and the Atlas PSR. There is about a $40 price difference between the two and they look identical. When you're talking...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I'm asking because I need a new 34mm mount or rings to mount a 4.5-29x56 Athlon Cronus to my RPR. I was considering the ADM Recon and the Recon SL. My goal is to go out to 1,000 with 6.5 CM. 20 MOA seems about right and 40 MOA seems like overkill. Check my math: 1 MOA at 1,000 yds is 10.47"...

Isn't the ADM recon SL a 30 MOA mount? Without switching the factory rail to a zero MOA base you would have 50 MOA, correct?

RPP Bipod Thoughts So, I previously purchased an GG&G XDS-2 QD bipod for my 6.5 Ruger Precision Rifle. I liked the design and light weight. I went with the quick detach model in order to be able to swap it onto other rifles and justify the cost. (I normally just go with a Harris 6-9). The...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

Anyone checked out the new Ruger AICS pattern mags? I'm going to be loading for my 6.5 GEN 1 and want a mag or two that I can squeeze maximum COAL and still feed reliably. I know the metal AR mags have a smidge more room than polymer, is it the same for AR-10 pattern mags? I'm also thinking...

Rifle Scopes 6.5 CM needing glass...

Outdoor life had a glowing review on the Veracity so I picked up a 5-25 with the SCR reticle. Features for the price are impressive and it has a lifetime warranty. It's also nice that the turrets can be changed from tactical, exposed to capped for hunting. I haven't really had a chance to take it...

Rifle Scopes 6.5 CM needing glass...

If you are using a traditional hunting reticle such as a fine crosshair then FFP isn't necessary. Mil Dot or Christmas tree and then FFP is advantageous. If you are rapidly engaging targets at multiple distances then I view FFP as a necessity.

Chassis forend length and suppressors, how much does barrel need to stick out?

Oh, don't forget the coefficient of thermal expansion! Aluminum grows quite a bit when heated, particularly the length dimension. It would be prudent to do a little math even if it's just a mental exercise. Also, direct threading is generally considered the most repeatable and therefore...

Chassis forend length and suppressors, how much does barrel need to stick out?

For direct thread you only need 0.5". For QD you need at least 1" from muzzle to rail. This would accommodate 99% of all non-reflex suppressors. There will be oddball suppressor out there made by small companies and individuals that would be very difficult to compensate for. Another option is to...

    Spartan Precision Carbon Fiber Bipods

A Carbon fiber composite part's strength can be tailored for how it will be loaded so don't write it off. It looks as the legs on the javelin bipod are a simple weave which would have good strength in multiple directions. People get into trouble when they start building complex parts with...
