Scopes That No One Likes To Admit They Own

8 years ago I bought a BSA tactical 6-24 x 44 30mm tube scope at $129. Amazing value. not that far from my newer Vortex pst ll 5-25 x50 in glass quality and use ability at 1/5th the price. I put in on my ar-15 with a 18” 416r whelan chamber and a ARMS #63 QD mount that cost $40 more than the...

    169 308 vs 6.5

Very helpful. Does the 169 go past the 800 yard wall? Because they are still supersonic? if you do not mind what load did you end up with in the 169’s? will be berger 185’s shoot ok out of a 1 in 11” 17.6” barrel?

    HK SR9T

The idea for the rifle originally was to be able to hit torso sized objects up to around 400 yards Iron sighted with m80 Nato ball ammo. Which it does as shipped. Oh you want target precision? Ok. Trigger that will not pass the 6’ drop test is first. Second is match ammo. Third is an...

    169 308 vs 6.5

so instead of building a 6.5 creedmore the 169 7.62x51 is that close. Thanks. That’s what my looking around seemed to show

    169 308 vs 6.5

Anyone have any feedback on whether a 169 grain Sierra MKBTHP can shoot as accurately at 600 yards and up like a 6.5 creedmore load? I assume the 168 answer would be no. Just wondered if the difference in the BC would make the 169 closer for distance shooting?

    HK SR9T

Here is a not very good picture of my 911 with a arms #63 QD mount on the Spuhr top rail. i have Another arms #63 QD mount with a set of weaver 6 point low mounts and a 5x25x50 vortex pst ll scope. if i mount the vortex I change the Spuhr cheekpiece to their tallest one and even though the...

    HK SR9T

The adjustable lenght plus the raised center of the Spuhr‘s stock reduces the inherent muzzle rise in all the hk stocks. the Spuhr‘s center column allows use of the 21e extra long buffer. I have a sg1 stock and a A3 and the Spuhr is worth the investment for those three reasons. I also added a...

    HK SR9T

it was designed to allow the iron sights to be used while the scope was mounted. Hollow underneath. This was a battle rifle. Optics covered in mud you could use the iron sights.

    HK SR9T

The info here is really helpful. I had no idea that the hk claw scope mount attached to the receiver would change zero if you put a side load on the grip. I recently replaced all my hk claw mounts with QD mounts. you guys have restored my hk 91 faith. My 911 with 168 grain reloads 30...

    Knights armament SR 25 accuracy?

i passed on a left hand sr-25 30 years ago at a crossroads gun show in costa mesa, ca. I had just ran my first 168 reloads through my hk911 and as it was MOA i did not see the need for a gas .308 as I remember its chambering versus my 7.62x51 non gas rifle that will special work maybe be made...

    Knights armament SR 25 accuracy?

I am totally a rank amateur here in this discussion but from what’s been posted on prices/values I should kick myself for passing on a new in box sr-25 that was left handed at a gun show 30 years ago for $1,000. why? I already had a hk911 that shot MOA with 168 grain hand loads. did not...
