    Hunting & Fishing Barrel camo

A buddy looked at a couple of my rifles and asked what I used to cover their stainless barrels for hunting. He had a good question. I have an OD wool scarf that is a long hollow sleeve and have been using that but we suspect there may actually be a camo barrel sleeve/cover. What do you folks...

    Nice Colt HBAR Elite

Re: Nice Colt HBAR Elite Bob L. Nice looking gun. Who's bipod did you go with? I ordered a couple hundred 69 gr Black Hills moly's today. I have a variety of 50-55 gr in house. Tough finding match factory ammo in our area. Looking forward to ringing her out. Good friend does triggers...

    Nice Colt HBAR Elite

Don't see much about Colt HBAR's but I picked one up over the weekend. Added the PRS stock, Nikon scope (had it laying around) and the bipod. Reaches longer than my .223 AR carbine and can always go to a .308 for longer reach. Should be a fun varmint rifle. It was made in '96 but never...

    building an M1917 sniper rifle

Re: building an M1917 sniper rifle Pg 509 of "The Springfield 1903 Rifles" by William S. Brophy shows three excellent photos of different '17's wearing the Model 1918 scope. None with the large diameter barrel though. Additional photos of the scope on the Springfield Armory 1918 on pg 510...

    building an M1917 sniper rifle

Re: building an M1917 sniper rifle The typo's in the previous post are mine, not the author of the book. My bad; late and tired but still thinking about a '17 sniper version.

    building an M1917 sniper rifle

Re: building an M1917 sniper rifle Dug out my C.S. Ferris "United States Rifle Model Of 1917". Only 1.5 pages (53-54)on the sniper version. He talks about the rifles at the BBM in Cody. Says they have 30" barrels that are 1.5" diameter with extra thick and shortened stocks. They have...

    Should I get a PRS???

Re: Should I get a PRS??? Had some range time yesterday and I'm going to use a saying I've heard from friends who have had hip, knee or other body part replacement surgery... "I should have done this years ago". And yes, I should have purchased a PRS years ago when I first saw them become...

    Should I get a PRS???

Re: Should I get a PRS??? Installed the stock this morning. Hope to get to the range in a couple days. Immediately noticed an improvement in the ease of acquiring the correct scope “picture” versus the OEM stock. The PRS is about ¼” shorter and that alone is worth the investment. The OEM...

    building an M1917 sniper rifle

Re: building an M1917 sniper rifle Have one '03 and two 03A3's but have to admit, I prefer my '17. Maybe because she's an "ugly duckling" but this duck can shoot damn straight. As a purist I'll keep her with iron sights but as I age, scoping it with a period scope is kind of tempting.

    Should I get a PRS???

Re: Should I get a PRS??? To all: thanks for the input. An online retailer called "Need More Gear" has them for around $176, no mono-pod though. VTS didn't show the AR-10 version and OEM is well... full retail. My 10 has the standard stock and I dont' want to add a "pad" for the cheek weld...

    Should I get a PRS???

I'm looking real close at the Magpul PRS for my AR-10T. Anyone have good or bad experiences with those stocks? Eventually I'd consider adding the mono-pod to it.
