Thinking of spinning up a barrel for my BAT VR action. The goal is to hit a 2 mile target. Proposed bullet is 190+ grain bullets, sierra 197 or berger 190 or 195. Any suggestions on barrel twist? I'm looking to do a 29-32" barrel. I would appreciate any advice you all have.
Running a Leica PRS and Leupold Mark 5 5-25. Prior to that Mk 4. My biggest complaint is the limited elevation of the Leupold due to the revolution counting caps. If only Leupold would make caps without the cam track that limits elevation range. Shooting targets out to a mile so far with a 260 rem.
Not sure specifically on TAC A1 stock, but I have a Southern Precision Rifles Bugnut that works well with KRG Bravo. The bugnut is pretty low profile IMO.
I soaked my barrel threads in kroil and PB Blaster for a few days prior. Came off with no issues on the first try. I had a CTR that I converted to Bugnut.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who has really young children shooting long range rifles. They will be SO spoiled with such nice equipment. My 10 and 12 yo load rifle rounds that are single digit SD and shoot 900 yards.
I think the draw is a good price point for an action that generally does not require addtional machining for a good prefit/barrel nut setup. They have a reputation for being accurately and consistently made.
