Re: Leupold rx-1000 tbr rangefinder I've used the RX-1000 and must say I am quiet pleased with it. I purchased it primarily for archery hunting, and chose it above all others because it has the illuminated (red) reticle for ranging just like the leica 900/1200. I previously tried the Nikon...
Re: What to study for in College? I would advise you to study a field in engineering. Americans like to build and design shit. I'd be leery studying for the medical field, because who knows what kind of salaries Obama care may bring... On the plus side, you can still begin college without...
Re: Project Whitetail hunter For what it's worth, I hunt both public and private land. Public land is truly a bitch...those deer are so educated it seems that they can wind you when they're upwind! Anyways, when hunting public land you MUST think of where the deer will move when they're...
Re: I Touch Mounted on my rifle This latest fad drives me nuts. Maybe it's just me, but I can't think of a bigger target indicator in a tactical situation than an itouch lighting your face up like a Christmas tree. Not to mention carrying and maneuvering the damn thing in the field or in a...
Re: Looking for a wedding ring NEED HELP!!! I'm kinda in the same boat as you because I just got engaged. I picked the smallest and cheapest ring I could find for myself because I don't like the idea of a big shiny target indicator on my finger. I just wish she had the same criteria when...
Re: indiana/ohio border shooters I'm from Fort Wayne and would be more than happy to get you started. The biggest problem I have now is finding time. What kind of rig are you shooting?
Re: Hornady Leverevolution 44 Mag BC? Good job! How many inches of drop did you get at 200 yards with a 100 yard zero? I'm shooting the exact same rig, except I didn't get the Nikon with the BDC. I found that when the scope is set on 5X, my 200Y hold is where the crosshair meets the...
Re: First deer with the new .458 SOCOM Damn, and I thought I was done buying deer rifles for the year! I'm happy with the 77/44 out to 200 yards, but that is one awesome rig you've got there and I need one now! Thanks
Re: First deer with the new .458 SOCOM Meat in the freezer buddy! Is that caliber legal for Indiana Hunting? If so, I'm gonna have to upgrade! I spent some serious $$$ on a Ruger 77/44, but your rig just looks sick!
Re: RAGE BROADHEADS !!!! What stories do you have???? I hit on a doe at 30 yards a couple of weeks ago with the rage 2. The Rage busted the first entry side rib, but bounced off the rib cage on the other side of her. As far as vitals, it only took out one lung. She ran about 60 yards and...
Re: Suggestions for a Spotting Scope? I spotted out of a buddy's Leupold Mark 4 with a mildot reticle and didn't like it. It may just be my personal preferance, but I felt like the mil ret cluttered my observation field too much and made it harder for me to see trace. I like to let my eye...
Re: Suggestions for a Spotting Scope? I am very happy with my Nikon Tactical Fieldscope 3 ED, however I'm not sure if they're still in production.? But for what it's worth, I can see trace much better than with the Navy "big eyes" with a 25X eye piece. It also served me well in the sandbox.
Re: advice on reactive targets Fill a clay pigeon with flour, insert an inch or two of your hanging string, and secure it by gluing another clay on the backside. Makes a nice, cheap reactive target.
