I have similar questions regarding the 308 bolts they have listed. Rem 308 RH SP BSA507006 vs Rem 308 RH LP BSA507004. Have a 591R action with a .223 bolt that has never been built out. Would like to get a bolt for a 308 Win barrel I have that was threaded for the 591. Is there a...
For kids starting out the 6.8 SPC in the AR platform has been an excellent performer. The 16" LMT with the Federal Fusion 115gr ammo has piled up deer and hogs for a handful of 7-12 year old boys and girls. The Fusion has performed extremely well with all animals going down quickly and...
I recently purchased an Element and am extremely pleased with it. I have gone through quite a few chassis stocks and this may be the final stop. Fit and finish are top notch. I have a Rock Solid which is also very nice, but the Element offers much greater LOP adjustment. This setup allows me...
I received my 6.5 SAUM about 4 weeks ago. Barrel break-in was as good or better than any previous new rifle. Accuracy is great as expected and shown by many others. Balance and practical hunting use criteria are second to none. Expectations were high and they have been met with room to...
All Remington brass at .345 fired This would indicate four steps down at roughly .330, .315, .304 & .295. Just wanting to verify that this is acceptable and similar to proven processes.
Is there a consensus on the bushings to size down the 300 saum brass? I have a .295 and a .304...where should I step up from there for the 300 case? Would I need a 3.15 +/- and a .325 +/-?
I have Swarovski Z6 scopes on a few of my hunting rifles. The 2-12x50 and 2.5-15x44 are both excellent in all respects. Having said that, it depends on your needs as it relates to reticles, turrets, weight and cost. Cost is probably the limiting factor with some people as the Z6's are not...
I have had excellent results from the 6.5 Creedmoor and 260 Rem with the following bullets 129 gr Hornady Interbond 125 gr Nosler Partition 130 gr Berger Hunting Accuracy is outstanding with the 129 Interbond and the 130 Berger. Terminal performance is also outstanding. The 125 Partition...
I have 2 hunting rifles (338 Win Mag & 35 Whelen) with Benchmark barrels. I hesitated at first due to lack of experience with them, but I have been very happy. Both of my rifles are very accurate and have performed extremely well. I would not hesitate to use them again.
I have the crf 1200 and have no complaints. As 308Gunner mentioned there is a trade off to its smaller size. It must be held steady for ranging at longer distances. For deer sized game out to 500-600 yards it works well assuming it can be held steady. I like it a lot for its size and...
A few years ago I had both calibers and found them to be very similar. It really is a flip of the coin as it relates to performance in my experience. Both of my rifles were GAP built and both shot extremely well as would be expected. I ended up keeping the 260 as I liked the set up a bit...
Re: POF 16" I get excellent results from my 16" POF. It shoots both 168gr and 175gr match ammo very well. Also very accurate with 175/180 gr hunting ammo. Reliable and accurate...one of my go to rifles for hog hunting.
Re: Who hunts with Browning Rifles? I have hunted with an A-Bolt Medallion in 270 with the BOSS since the mid 90's. It was my second centerfire rifle after hunting with a Model 94 as a kid through my mid 20's. It has been a reliable, accurate rifle. With factory Hornady and Black Hills...
