Re: My new project for beyond 1000 yrds. Ptaylor, I've thought about the rigby. Could I get 2800 with a 340 grn. Cutting edge bullets has a 340 grn with a B.C of .752. Darrin
I want to build a .416 weatherby shooting a 375 grn cuttingedge bullet with a B.C of .825. Ill be pushing it 2800 fps. What's your opinion? Not many think of the .416 wm as a longrange hammer. Darrin
So on Matrix website they list the static bc of the 210grn vld bullets as .752. Im asking you guys if you know the real world bc for this bullet. I was thinking that the bc would be .700. Darrin
Re: Snould I rechamber Thats kinda what i've been thinking. I will put my money on new glass. I will not be taking shots past 700yrds. B/c my range finder only ranges that far. However on targets I want to stretch out my legs of my 300wm. Darrin
I curremtly own a 300winmag. Ive been doing dome thinking and want to shot the high bc .308 bullets 200grn+. Would it be worth my money to rechamber my 300wm to a 300rum. This will be my lomgrange hunting rifle. All opinons welcome. Thanks Darrin
Just got back from montana getting my rifle set up and sighted in. We epoxied my scope bases down, we even had to retighten the action screws down. We got all ready to go loaded up some 180 grn nosler balistic tips and headed out to the range. we got my 300 sighted in and proceeded to shot...
I am thinking 168 a-max going 3200 out of my 300 winmag. Max range would be 600 yrds on Mule Deer. I know The 300 will fly further but that is all my range finder will go, on non refective targets. What do you guys think? Is there a better option? Thanks for reading Darrin
Re: A little bit of bad luck!! Ok guys got an answer from sportsmans warehouse. The reason that I can't just exchange it for a new one is because as soon as the rifle is entered in to the computer as mine the ATF consider it a used firearm and Sportsmans Warehouse has can not have nothing to...
Re: A little bit of bad luck!! That is what I wanted to do. But I bought the rifle at Sportsmans warehouse. And to make matters worse there is a sign that reads " all firearm purchase are final". However sportsmans is going to ship it for me I do not have to ship it they will. Still I...
Re: A little bit of bad luck!! The gunsmith that found the problem told me that it is not unsafe to shoot the rifle. But it would destroy my brass. I reload and want my brass kept. But now my cabin fever is even worse. I just want to go shoot !!! Darrin
Re: A little bit of bad luck!! Guys that is what I am worried about. I have read a few post, not a lot but a few where it never was fixed. However I was excited to break in that new barrel monday. It does suck to have to wait!! patience is a virtue Darrin
I finally decided on which rifle I was going to get. Yesterday I bought a 300wm in a Remington model 700 stainless steal. It took me a bout a year and several used guns that I ended up not being happy with and selling, I finally bought yesterday. Well today before I was going to go break in the...
