    question on crimped primer pockets

Re: question on crimped primer pockets I wasn't aware Lapua brass came with crimped primers. Black hills brass maybe? The Dillon super swage is the way I deal with the crimped PP. There are other ways, but that's the fastest other the the jerk that says "Dillon 1050".

How much crimping is too much crimping?

Re: How much crimping is too much crimping? Absolutely too far once you've started crushing bullets. However a slight crimp won't crush or distort a bullet.

How much crimping is too much crimping?

Re: How much crimping is too much crimping? In which case I'd have feeding issues. I don't have either problem, and I also don't have a problem with neck tension. As of now I don't anneal, I just toss my brass.

How much crimping is too much crimping?

Re: How much crimping is too much crimping? When I have the Lee crimp die set to how I like it, I can see the crimp but it's not blatenly obvious. In this video the guy sounds a little distracted but the picture at the end is worth waiting for. I've done lighter, and a little heavier then...

How much crimping is too much crimping?

Re: How much crimping is too much crimping? This is one of the hottest debated "options" out there. Personally I like a light crimp. I have never had a bullet setback on me, but a reloader friend of mine has. My rifles aren't cheap, but a Lee crimp die sure is! I call it cheap insurance...

    Reloading Set Up/Trimmer Needed

Re: Reloading Set Up/Trimmer Needed I have a Lyman Universal trimmer I converted to chuck up in my Dewalt. That works pretty good for what it is. After doing 1k .223 cases on it I shelled out the coin for a Giraud. The Lyman is much quicker to set up if I'm only trimming a few cases, so I...

How do you track your brass?

Re: How do you track your brass? Best way for me to deal with large amounts of brass is this. I have several large plastic dish washing tubs I got from Wallyworld for $2 each. When I buy my once fired brass, I do a full prep on the whole lot and separate by head stamp and store them in large...

Question on which press would be best for me...

Re: Question on which press would be best for me... I don't have a Dillon, but for what it's worth I am consistently within +/-.1gr with Varget on my Pro2000 press.

    Powder restocking

Re: Powder restocking Very good point, I failed to take that into consideration. In that case, I would definitely look at TAC, and W748. There are more "advanced" powders out there compared to W748, but it's worker very well for me in my short reloading experience. I have mainly use stick...

    Powder restocking

Re: Powder restocking I would look into IMR8208 XBR, Ramshot TAC, and H322 to your list of potential powders.

    Imperial sizing wax

Re: Imperial sizing wax Thanks for all the input guys, it's helping! I won't have time to try any of these suggestions out till this weekend. I stated it was a little slow when compared to using my RCBS lube die. I use that exclusively for .223, but left a lot to be desired for .308. I'll...

    Imperial sizing wax

Re: Imperial sizing wax I started by having a little on my fingers and swabbing each case on it's way to the press. After about 30 or so cases it seemed tedious, so slicked some on both palms and rolled it on that way for the rest of the bag maybe about 50 .308 cases.

    Imperial sizing wax

Just picked some of this up, and it works fantastic! I was supper impressed, it literally cut down the resizing resistance by at least half. It's a little on the slow side though, and I'm looking to speed things up a little. Anyone ever try making a spray with this, or any other suggestions?
