    Muzzle velocity difference between manufacturers

Barrels are individuals, so your results WILL vary some even within a specific manufacturer. I agree with the above that Tikka/Sako barrels are generally a tad slower, and that their throats are long. I'm out way over 2.9XX" in OAL in my TRG in .260 Rem. I'd certainly be buying based upon...

...much too coarse...like a wire brush. Sorry Chet, I'm afraid you're the only one suitable to be the dartboard in lockup.

Dude, I've gone 5 days before between shits (in the field), and then crapped out bricks. I'll never have to worry about being tight...which is why I'm not concerned about prison rape. Nobody is fighting to throw their hotdog down this hallway...

    Which 18” 5.56 Barrel

Somebody has spent a little too much time in Thailand, and it shows...;) Otherwise I agree. That would be like saying that since a Brux barrel won the last F-Class match...that Brux is now the superior barrel for all long range shooting. Not crapping on SOLGW at all. Apparently they make...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

I just hit them with the razzle dazzle man...😆 I do get a few to come to me at night, but my lip squeaking generally sucks. Obviously I have to see them first before I even try. Usually though I'm lumbering my fat ass as fast as possible to get ahead of them. I'd say I'm about 40/60...

Extra Barrels for Action I No Longer Have

Yep, the gentleman who spins my barrels used to work at Surgeon when they were an Oklahoma company. He's spun up extra barrels for my 1086...HOWEVER, he wanted to see my action to make sure he properly set headspace. They are NOT like an Impact et al. where a prefit from one should spin onto...

    Which 18” 5.56 Barrel

There is no real advantage to any of the designs. If there were, everybody would only run one type of rifling. What sets barrels apart the most regarding accuracy is the quality of manufacturing (attention to detail, tooling/equipment, processes, etc...) and quality of steel.

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Speaking of unprepared: I have called coyotes twice in my life...we'll, I've lip squeaked at a bunch I'd already seen, but I've only set up a stand twice in my life. First time, I tied a turkey feather onto a barb wire fence to blow in the wind. Set my call up, sat down, started playing it...

    Which 18” 5.56 Barrel

I think that one or two of those will usually out perform the others (Craddock is most frequently considered here). However I don't think that any of those will really disappoint either...but you do have a slightly higher chance of getting a dud with some. I've got three Wilsons, a WOA, and a...

    I have the sad

I guess they didn't issue you a sewing kit in 1995 either? Nobody holds onto anything anymore. I almost had to Indian-wrestle the museum for my boot bands...but there's always chance I might need them in another 10-15 years... Haze yourself!

    Vertical Strings

^ I like this in bold, and it is easy to tell if you dry fire and notice your reticle moving up a tenth or two. There is already quite a bit of good information in the responses regarding body position and forward bipod/rest control. I just wanted to add that your rear bag control can also...
