Some of you guys are in for a surprise

These darn things had both backed out on their own about two full turns. Simple fix. Easy lesson learned.

Some of you guys are in for a surprise

I would laugh with you, but my damn AT-X just had the two screws that secure the trigger to the action come loose on me. Spent an hour on here researching AI comp trigger cleaning/supposed issues...Spent 5 minutes actually taking the rifle apart and finding my problem 😆. Oh well, my comp...

Who made your factory action? Who did the barrel? Cases without primers ensures that my #1 question is answered. If you're greater than .003 bump, and you're having to force the bolt home, I'm currently suspecting something with either the chamber or bolt face/head.

McMillan A4 vs A3/5, grip length?

Having owned multiple A3 / A4 / and A5s, I will attest that the grip length on the A4 and A5 are longer than the A3. I'm in the same boat as you are. Frequently I find myself tucking the pinky under my current A3 pistol grip.

    6.5x47 Lapua

#1 How is your primer seating? If you are .001 or so proud (you can feel the primer above the case head) that'll do it too. #2 What action are you using? Not all are created equal (at all). Is your trigger "timed" to the action with a hanger?(that's a whole other topic) #3 What comparator...

    Accuracy International AT-X

I think I will add a regular 400 round interval of pulling it apart, cleaning the trigger and bolt, and applying blue Loctite to the screws. Admittedly, I'm a 700/70 pattern action bedded into a stock guy. I imagine the chassis guys are probably more familiar with checking mounting hardware...

    Accuracy International AT-X

Typed your answer as you were typing your question man :D . I had never adjusted the trigger prior. I would guess it was somewhere around 1lb first stage (still is) and probably 6oz or less on the second stage. It is 13oz now on the second stage after about 1.5 rotations on the screw.

    Accuracy International AT-X

Welp, it was most simple fix in the world. I'll go back and edit my original "issue" post once I finish typing this. Hopefully if someone else runs into an issue, they find this and it too helps them quickly fix their problems. Hell, the tool that they need is literally inside their cheek...

    Accuracy International AT-X

There were several gripes about the comp triggers going down in either this thread (maybe around page 90), or one of the other AI threads. An AI rep said that it was all but one time due to operator error in adjustment. I have found a couple similar issues with basic Google searches, but I...

    Accuracy International AT-X

Yeah, there was an extra spring packaged. I think that it was the light one though and my "heavy" one is installed. It is actually too light for my numb fingers. More than one occasion I pulled through the wall just trying to register it. I need about a 2lb trigger at it's lightest. Most of...

    Accuracy International AT-X

That would be a logical idea. However, after my call, message, and no return call regarding a barrel issue I had with my factory 6.5CM barrel - I'm out of the desire to repeat that process. Not that I hate AI...I'm just enjoying my one and only less and less. Hopefully it is a stupid...

    Accuracy International AT-X

Welllllllllllllllllllllllll crap. *****Fixed in post 5,975***** My AT-X firing pin started going home on its own when I close the bolt. I suspect that the comp trigger is gummed up, so cleaning it will be my first course of action as soon as I get some time off. I was right in the middle of...

Some of you guys are in for a surprise

I read about 15 - 20 of the posts in the original thread. Enough to formulate a basic opinion, but I generally stay away from the bulk of drama because I don't have a lot of room for that in my life. However, there is a time where we need to realize the simplistic beauty of keeping our moths...

Bergara HMR pro .308 load help

I'd try .015 - .090 off in .015 increments. Might just find what you're looking for. I have always found that seating depth testing works...BUT, I've never had it take a 2 MOA combination and make it 1/2 MOA.

Bergara HMR pro .308 load help

Add in that the Nosler ABLR is sometimes difficult to get to shoot consistently (accurate) in some barrels. It is certainly more seating depth sensitive in the two barrels that I've tried it in (but I have had luck in 7mm RM). The standard response to "what powder in .308" for bullets in the...

    6gt

It's a fun ride. Bonus that you picked the 6GT to learn on. It is one of the most forgiving cartridges I've found. Three bullets, three powders, and I don't think I've fired a single five shot group that has exceeded MOA. Best of luck.

I got that. I quoted and responded to your question in #1,867. If you've never fired a round down the tube, load a couple rounds to whatever spec you are getting your load data from (Hodgdon, Hornady etc...). Use those rounds to confirm zero and start whatever break-in you do or don't believe...

If you have 500 virgin cases (especially Alpha), I'd just mandrel the case neck (or run over an expander ball), chamfer, and load. Actually, 500 Alpha cases are probably going to outlast your barrel by quite a bit.
