Beating a dead horse......Custom Beanland vs AI AE MK3

We were at the PRS match the other day and were range officers on a stage. One of the guys came up with his AI and started the timed stage. After his fourth or fifth shot, it refuse to fire. He had pierced a primer and it blocked the firing pin. He pulled the bold, opened it and pulled the...

    .243 rifle for my son

(EDIT) Sorry, did not read the budget constraint. I had the same dilemma with my son. I selected a Remington Model 7 in 243 with 18" Benchmark, trued and bedded, Vortex glass and tuned trigger. The fine gents at GAP did the work on it and it shoots like one of their finest. With the break, it...

Hunting & Fishing Texas Speedgoat 2104

Had a great weekend hunting in the Texas panhandle. Not allot of goats around so you had to work to get one. They are extra careful and very spooky. We watched this one for several hours, waiting for him to get in range. We flanked him and got into a shooting position. He finally wandered into...

    leica geovid 10*42

I also have a pair of the non-HD Geovids in 10x42. I was Antelope hunting and noticed I could not get accurate ranges over about 400 yards. Pissed to say the least. Sat in the truck bemoaning how stupid I was for spending all that money on a combo pair and noticed the laser was filthy. A little...

Gun vault thread from a while back

Does anyone remember the thread about the guy who built a gun room in his house and made the door from tube steel and used hockey puck locks? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Doug S

Looking for input on RAP 500 / AMAC / Iver Johnson 50 BMG Sniper Rifle

The RAP 500/AMAC5100/ Johnson was the first 50 cal rifle built for the military for the task of long range sniping. It was highly praised by Dean McCaelis (sp) (triggerfifty) as the most solid 50 on the market. The shell holder design is both good, as it has no moving parts-it is also bad...

    Rifle Scopes IOR Valdada ?

If your parallax is moving, you need to send it in for repair. Mine was doing the same and Val asked me to send it in as it required a simple adjustment. No issue, no charge-just a great scope working perfectly.

Hunting & Fishing Another great start to a great year for my 9 year old.

My 9 year old got his new GAP 243 last year and harvested a great nine point buck in South Texas. This year, a family friend invited him to hunt an Axis buck in the hill country. While we did see the granddaddy of all Axis, I was happy he shot a smaller one to leave some room for improvement...

    Suppressors "Hollywood Quiet"

Surroundings also huge part in the noise from the suppressed rifle. Shoot in the trees, you will hear a report. Shoot in an open field with nothing to reflect the sound and it could be very close to Hollywood quite.

    243 Win Loads

I have a question for the masses. I had a rifle built for my son and we are dialing it in now for the season. It is a full custom Remington Model 7, built by a very well know smith. It has a ptg bolt and a new Benchmark 1/8 twist 17” barrel and all the goodies. It is veryshort. I am having...

Suppressors Too Late For a Trust Owned Suppressor?

Twice now our local Sherriff (CLEO) has been charged theft, misappropriation and a host of other crimes. So he will have a current list of everything you have in your position. Federal law with a local approval. Does not sound quite right. They already get a copy of the 4473 if I purchase two...

Rifle Scopes Little to no elevation after zero

Rifle Scopes ffp optics at most 14 inches long

Leopold make the Mark 6 which is very compact. I believe it is a 3-18. Also quite a bit less money than the March.
