I, too, have a Rock Chucker. The thing that sold me on the Co Ax was the fact that there is NO play in the handle or ram. I tested two RC's that I have access to and they both have play in the down stroke of the handle. This play transfers to the shell plate, thus transferring to the brass...
Don't know if this is the right place, but I will post it anyway. I just finished a weekend class with Force 4 in central Florida. Recently had some smith work done to my rifle and the gentleman introduced me to my instructor, John Gardner. He has a 1000 yard training range, pistol range and...
I was having the same issue as you. I started sorting my bullets by Ogive length. I bought the sort stand from Sinclair. Never vary more than .001 from round to round now. In a box of 100 .308 175grn SMK there were four different Ogive lengths varying .010 from high to low. Don't know if...
I use a guide, brass or nylon brushes and a coated rod. If I could take a picture of the "mark" I would, but it don't have that ability. I was almost wondering if it was from tooling. If it matters, the "mark" is running lengthways with the barrel.
Just got back from a range trip and was decapping my brass. I noticed scratches(feel it with fingernail depth) about 1/4 of an inch up from the head of the case. A quick inspection of my chamber reveled a groove that I could feel with a dental pick. It in no way is affecting the rifles...
I will chime in. Being a diver, I have been hit by jellyfish. First time, a local told me to use regular Colgate toothpaste(not the gel stuff). I looked at him like he was crazy, but I was an Ohio country boy and gave him the benefit. I was back in the water in no time. Never again worry...
I am in the load development stages with my .308 and have switched to TAC from Varget. So far, testing has been at a 100 yards and my spread over different charge weights has been .3"-.6" using 168 SMK out of a 20" rem700. Doesnt seem to be effected by temperature. Let me know if you have any...
I used krylon after a camo job cause I was too cheap to buy the duracoat clear. DON'T DO IT. The krylon will stain and spot when cleaning the weapon. It had a rubbery feel to it. I finally got tired of it and stripped the krylon off. Duracoat remained in place. Lesson learned!
Ok, had a clean 30-06 case laying on the bench. I apologize for the iPhone photo. If you would like more crisp pics, pm me and I will get out the big camera and email you some. I am really impressed with this trimmer. Wish I would have had it a year ago when I trimmed 5000 once fired LC cases!
