Re: Seat depth for Primer I was taught to seat them 1. untill they stop and 2. they should be a few thousandths below the case head level. Again the way I was taught, you can feel them just slightly below. You shouldn't be able to get them too deep unless too much material has been removed...

Re: Scratched up brass from rifle? Sounds like the feed ramp is marking the cases and possibly the lips of the magazine? Is it leaving bullet/case material in the rifle? Try chambering a few rounds and look for material left behind. But I have to agree with Woodland-Ghost - if it isn't...

Re: 223 for Whitetail A good friend of mine dropped 2 does just minutes apart with 55g Ballistic tipped Ultramax remanufactured ammo out of his DPMS 20" AR. Both rounds passed completely through and turned the lungs to liquid. Both deer died within 25 yards. One round never touched a bone...
