^^^^ that pretty much sums it up. We've seen shortages of gun parts or reloading components in the past etc... but nothing on the scale we are seeing currently. There was a bump in stuff the last time we went into Iraq in 2003 time frame. Then came the Obama era and all the anti gun...
No sorry's needed bud. Yes we are not out of the woods from pandemic/riot year BS and the two wars have just made things worse on the whole gun industry.
I'm still waiting on some chamber reamers I ordered back in the first week of December. We've got barrels here to finish (test barrels) and can't finish them because we can't get the tools and it's past the delivery dates. I called a couple of weeks ago to check on them and one of the tools is...
(y) on the meter! No not just 6ARC's. I got an emergency request for those back in early December and had to get them done in 2 weeks! It's 50bmg (the powder maker burns a 50bmg test barrel up at the rate of one per week when making that powder. We got the order the beginning of March and they...
I ordered a action almost a year ago (I with hold makers name as I'm not bashing or anything like that) but I called to check on it a few times and the last phone call I was told.... sorry but not going to make them for we don't know how long. Oh well!
If it was something we did on the barrel itself we should've tried and turned it faster than that for ya. Sorry! If it was something other like gunsmith ordered the wrong contour or fitting mess up....about as fast as we can do it. We are basically 8-9 months out. The amount of emergency...
Welcome! From all the load data I can find...the max load I've seen listed is 41.4. So I'm loading 41.4/41.5. Doesn't matter if I'm running a manual powder measure or a electronic powder measure set up I did work up to it though. I double check the charges. As long as the charge isn't over 41.5...
No just don't use them. Years ago I use to run the Sierra 140 matchking. Basically what I see is the 135 or the 150's ballistically have an edge over the 140's ever the Bergers. Berger advertises a G7 of .311. The 135 Atips are at .321. The 153's are at .355. The 150SMK are rated at at the G1...
H4350. 41.5gr. My chamber in my guns also has about a .020" shorter throat then Saami. I'm like right at or just under 2700fps. / I mean like 2690 or 2695. I'd have to go home and look at my data books. I shot the 153's at a match where Applied Ballistics had they're mobile lab set up and...
150SMK and the 135 and 153 ATIPs. The 150SMK and the 153's I'm running them at 2700fps basically. The 135's I'm at 2800+. All out of 23" barrels. If I want to do a quick zero check or initial barrel break in or just practice etc... usually box 140ELDM ammo. I don't load 140's at all anymore.
I have to agree with what he is saying. I go back to the 284win. It was originally designed to run thru a SA type gun but with heavier/longer bullets your stuffing them so far into the case your sucking up case capacity which in turn will make velocity suffer. If your going to seat...
I got it straight from the SS gunsmith/builder who was there thru the whole thing. He retires this year. Best I can tell you and where the info came from.
You could but you would have to turn the threads down to 1.060" from the 1.155" diameter and rethread it. There is plenty there to clean up and keep the breech length in my opinion. You will also have to go from the coned shaped breech on the PGW's to the Remmy/Surgeon breech/counterbore style...
I've got a total of four PGW Coyote action barrels for sale. Gonna blow them out at a low price. Two barrels are 5R rifling and 11.25 twist 308cal chambered with the PGW reamers and threaded for PGW actions and are 25" blanks in the PGW contour. They are not cut and crowned yet. The major...
Offhand I'm not sure on PRL (Powell River Labs) and if they ever supplied any bullets etc... I was told it was LRB (Lost River Ballistics) on the bullets. All I can help you with on that.
