Re: 25-06 load for deer. I used to load 56 grains of H4831 and 100grn Nosler BT, in a winchester case with Win standard primers. Its an old load may be above listed book max now. Used to Chron 3280 out of a 21inch barrel. This load shot about 3/4 of inch and killed like Thor's hammer.

Re: Dads SPS out shoots mine. My Dept. issued me a new 700p and it shot 1.5 to an inch at 100yrds, My Dad bought a 700vs, used, out of pawn shop, and it avg about .5-.6 with handloads at 100. Both rifles in .308. The PD ended up rebarreling the 700p, It never would shoot.
