Bighorn Origin (Still/Stuck Bolt) All of a Sudden

Carbon ring? You did mention there were marks on bullet. Clean throat really good and see if it improves. If you have access to a bore scope I would look in there first.

Try pulling your firing pin out and chambering a round with out a mag. This releases any tension and you will or should be able to feel if the case is binding. If it is tight to close, then it is most likely a brass issue.

I have only seen this once and it was the brass not being sized down enough near the case head. How much did you bump the shoulder?

    .224 Valkyrie

Just finished load development. Bighorn Origin, 24" 1-7 X-Caliber. Tried 85.5s first with multiple powders. Grouped well at 2725 but fell apart if I tried to push any harder. Went to 80.5 Fullbore and N550 powder. 26.7 grains got 2925 and single digit SDs. They like a .020 jump. Happy...

Tired of wasting time and money into slow loads working my way up anyone else?

Just that one, but they all are single digit. The point is this method works and it is fast.

I have a new method shared by Bryan Litz. I shoot to find my guns max. I actually shoot a bit past, but the key is to establish a safe max at front side of pressure. Back off that 1.5 ish grains and shot a few across that. As an example in my 6.5 I began to feel slight bolt lift around 43.5...

    Binoculars or spotting scope

The Riton 10x42 has worked great for me. I also have Athlon Cronos 15x56 set and everyone who looks through them at matches, like the Riton more

Tired of awful Applied Ballistics products

One other thing, now that I have read the entire thread. Do Not store your kestrel with anything Magnetic. Your electronic hearing protection, chamber chillers etc. Magnets wipe out the compass. Keep them separate.

Sorry for the late response, busy week end. Go to weather mode, select compass, set compass in True North mode. Back out to calibrate compass. When you do this it seems to work better if you hold the unit out in front of you and then turn in a circle. Turn should be about 3 seconds, if you...

    Am I missing something.....

I find max for rifle. True QL profile. Find OBT in QL around 1.5 grains below max and shoot across that. Done that last 4 rifles and found load in less than 25 total rounds.
