New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Thank you! Density altitude is typically around 7000' to 8000' where I normally shoot and if I remember correctly it was just over 3000' when we shot the challenge. Elevation was .3 mil more at the lower altitude.
I have shot and won some shorter range competitions at the local range, but...
I did train in the wind here in CO, but it just doesn't normally change as fast and as drastically as it did the day we shot. I can normally get off 10 shots in the CO wind at the range I train at with about the same amount of wind for all 10. Impacts will change over a 10 shot string just not...
After action report. I did better than expected, but not as well as I’d hoped.
The Kestrel had the wind at the firing line at 2 to 6 Mph with gusts to around 10. The Vortex range finder had it at .3 Mil left and my wind dope chart had .5 L for a full value 5 Mph wind. Knowing most everyone...
The digital Mitutoyo's I purchased in the early 80's still have a perfect measurement on a 1" gauge block. They haven't seen super heavy use, but are used regularly.
I didn't shoot it as we had to leave. Brandon did shoot it though - wonder if that'll be on the video? It's an ELR gun so definitely good out to 2000 and probably significantly more.
Saw part 2. A bit hard to tell, but looks like you did very well considering the wind. The first sighter shot was dead nuts! I'm hoping sending 230 gr pills downrange makes it a little more consistent when I have my go at it. Do you have any tips?
