Resource to research 03A4 provenance?
@cplnorton , thanks for the reply. I was hoping that there were records to the effect of "SNs 1xx - 2xx were sent to this unit", etc, but I don't know how U.S. military logistics/procurement worked then or now and it didn't necessarily work that way. Resource to research 03A4 provenance?
Does anybody have a recommendation where/how I can research the background of a particular 03A4 rifle? Based off S/N would it be possible to find out where it was sent once it left the factory?- hiramberdan

Are 1903 S/N's traceable to specific units?
My grandfather started going to Camp Perry around the same time! It is incredible that you have the match programs in such good condition. My own match programs from Perry invariably ended up mangled in my shooting stool during my time there. I'll be interested to hear more about the research...- hiramberdan
