Re: Remington 700 feed problems
That may be a very good possible cause. Now that I think about it that makes sense. Whenever the rare occasion the bolt does catch the cartridge it is most likely only catching it at the very top of it potentially causing the bullet to nose DOWN and get jammed...
Re: Remington 700 feed problems
Sometimes the bolt rides over the top yes, and sometimes the whole things screws up. Only every now and then it feeds right.
Re: Remington 700 feed problems
Well sounds like I am not the only one who has or am having problems. I suppose that the dbm is the culprit here. I guess I will be buying another dbm system and sending remington a well worded letter.
I am having very bad feeding issues with my 700 .308. It has the stock remington detachable magazine system on it and it is feeding horribly. Everytime I fire the weapon, extract the casing, then try to push the bolt back in it will get stuck and the cartridge will not find itself up the feed...
Re: Should I change my barrel
Thanks alot guys for the input. 100 yards is all I have ever shot and am planning on heading back out to the range which has a maximum distance set at 300 yards. I agree that I should learn what i can using this sporter barrel. The better optic and stock has...

I started my build with a 700 sps dm model chambered in .308 with the standard sporter barrel. I changed out the glass for a Bushnell tactical elite 3200, and bought an hs precision stock for it as well. My rifle with the barrel is now shooting less than an inch at 100 yards. I am really happy...
So I have a remington 700 sps detachable magazine model and am thinking of getting rid of it to pay a few bills right now, and also think it was a mistake buying this when I should have purchased a varmint model instead. So how much do you guys think I should sell it for in Washington state and...
Re: Detachable mags for Model 700's
Thanks for all the replies guys. What is interesting is that since I changed from the sps sporter stock, and installed my hs precision m24 stock, I am not experiencing any feed problems anymore. Wierd Huh?
Bought a bushnell elite 3200 10 40 mildot scope, and purchased a sniper field training manual that teaches how to range using the mildots. My question is how to I take the information that I get from ranging and taking that information, and adjusting the turrets to match the range? The turrets...
Re: My new scope.
Well I got my new scope in the mail yesterday. The cool thing is my new hs precision stock arrive at the same time also. I gotta tell you dudes that my gun looks completely different now. What shocked me the most was looking through this new scope. I compared it to the 3-12x...
