Re: Frame for steel targets? Start with 10' cold rolled rods. The "U" ends up being 2' wide and 4' high. Gives you plenty to stick into the ground and be stable while keeping the targets up above any higher grass etc.

Re: Shooting Platform for Varmint Hunting Mine sorta looks like sticking the rifle between the side-mirror and the open side window of my pickup. Sorta like a Swedish tank in that you have to swing the whole rig around to adjust fire for different angles.
