I ended up getting the Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50.. With the mil discount it was under $300. It's all mounted up.. bore sighted it by eye, and no shit, hit the POA at 185yds on first shot. I know that was total luck.. Plus the rifle was just thoroughly cleaned and it was a cold bore.. so...
Thanks for the info. I'm pretty firm on around a $350 cap. As I mentioned all I want it for is load testing from the bench, it will probably never leave the back yard. I signed up today for a Euro Optics account. See if it goes through before the 31st ends.. they have a 55% off sale on...
I had looked at those.. only thing is I'd also have to buy new rings. I see they have the $170 off of a bag of schwag that includes rings. Are those rings any good? Rifle is going to be a Rem 700 in .243 on a KRG Bravo, so mild cartridge on a gun with some weight. Any experience with the...
Looking for just a basic 24x scope to do load testing with.. so 100-200yds from the bench. As long as I can get it to hit close to POA and it stays there, that's all I need.. Rifle is going to mainly have a thermal on it. $300 ish price range.. Prefer 30mm tube so I can use rings I already...
Since this thread got resurrected.. I ended up getting the Pulsar Thermion 2 XQ50 Pro a few months ago. It does need nuc'd pretty regularly after startup, but settles in after a few minutes. There are some faint wavy lines in the output (even in the videos), I'll probably send it in at some...
22", 1-10 twist and running a suppressor.. Wanting to try to bang steel out to 1000. So far I've been shooting mostly 110gr vmax at yotes out of the rifle. I had a few boxes of older (2016ish) 175gr FGMM that would shoot easy sub .5 MOA, but just ran out. The new FGMM I have the bullets have...
Yes, full length resizing with Redding S die & .336 bushing I believe.. I use the Redding competition shell holders & cam-over to bump the headspace .002". Since the seating the bullet back further made it chamber easily I don't think the case size was the issue. I've moved on since then...
Top of the shell holder is the top.. doesn't change.. The other line is where the base of the case sits.. that line goes up or down. So if you move the face of the case down, without moving the top.. you size less case. Assuming contact and cam-over.
Actually we're both right... measured it with a Starrett micrometer.... I would post pics if I could (if you haven't gathered by now, I'm cheap) The .002 and .010 both have a total thickness of .25" (the part that sticks above the ram).. The thickness of the .002 from where it sits on the top...
