Man, a TON of negativity here! I'd be interested in an XLR style chassis for $250. Something like that MDT LSS modular setup for $150'ish w/ a tubular forend would be nice too.
My FVSR is my favorite gun currently. I have it in a Tacticool but the $100 stock is crap wood. Considering the time...
Doesn't sound like much of a problem to me, lower cost & equal performance, sounds like a "win-win!"
I just picked a 10TR, stupid price, great specs, and the new bottom bolt release. I have no issues with slightly modifying a stock to accommodate.
My buddy and I just got our 24" TR's yesterday. I was searching for 2 weeks, found plenty of 10P's but at $520-620. If anyone is LE PM me and I can tell you where you might find them. The dealer is limiting them to LE only.
This will be the perfect big brother to my FVSR tacticool, just need a...
I'm glad to see/hear that this model is still shipping with the HS stock as this is exactly what I plan to buy. I love my FVSR .22 so its big brother in .308 is the next logical step.
As for the Savage CS matter... I sometimes deal with CS escalations as part of my job at an international...

Re: Stock for Savage FVSR
If you can wait a little bit, Rhineland Arms will be releasing their Leopard stock for the MKII. It's basically a hardwood stock styled after the AICS.
Re: 22 LR AR choice
User "Redtazdog", no doubt. He will make you a custom barrel and match your CMMG bolt to the barrel to essentially get rid of that play which is the root of many malfunctions. I had him build me a 4.5" upper (keeps bulk ammo subsonic for suppressor use) and it is FAR...

Re: Thicker bottom metal for Savage Mk II?
Yes, unfortunately, all of the Tacticool/TR stocks are made of a soft wood. It'd be nice if they started using better wood on the Tacticools, but I've had 3 and they're all the same. They have good weight to them but try making an indentation on the...
