Need new muzzle brake for 300 PRC

Holland Quick Discharge radial (large) is also very effective and not as loud as the JP Recoil Eliminator

Need new muzzle brake for 300 PRC

Agree, the JP Recoil Eliminator is the best brake I have used in terms of reducing recoil and eliminating muzzle jump. Kinda cool looking, like an ugly supercar, but also very loud.

    Weatherby mark V safety problem

I like the Weatherby MK V action for its short bolt throw. I own 5 in various calibers. All are very accurate and very sturdy. They take abuse well. However, on 3 different rifles I have had the gun discharge without pulling the trigger when the safety is disengaged. It occurs after the...

Best precision rifle available on a budget

Agree the 308 is a better choice for beginners. However, he did mention shooting elk, and at 300+ yards, a 308, particularly in the hands of a beginner, is a poor choice. Shooting at elk with any caliber requires good quality ammunition. The difference between 150 grain Barnes Vortex 308...

Best precision rifle available on a budget

Firstly, can the $150 scope. You can get a decent scope for $300-400, from Nikon, Burris, Weaver, or Vortex. $100-150 buys you trash. Your MOA rifle won't shoot MOA with a crap scope. You will also need strong rings, Warne rings are inexpensive and bullet proof. And a Picatinney rail is...

Rifle Scopes Nikon Black FX1000 vs PST gen ii

True that. The two Nikon Monarch 5's (4-20x50) I have are exceptionally clear, have ED glass. Second FP, but pretty awesome for the price. One is on my 300 WBY, the other on my son's 7 mm Rem Mag. Just about perfect for hunting the South Island NZ. Already responsible for a Tahr and 15-point...

Rifle Scopes Nikon Black FX1000 vs PST gen ii

I own 4 Nikon scopes, but not an Black FX: Monarch 3 2.5-10x50, an older Tactical 4-16x50, and two 4-20x50 Monarch 5s. I can only vouch for the robustness and optical clarity of the Nikon scopes. I compared the tactical model ($1,000 circa 2001) to a friend's Swarovski and it was a dead heat...

Rifle Scopes IOR or Leupold, advice needed, first-timer...

Re: IOR or Leupold, advice needed, first-timer... I have owned 4 IOR scopes. All four either broke after a few rounds or were defective to start. You may be asking, "why did you buy 4 if you had three break?" Well, I only bought one - a 1x4x24 illuminated model. put it on a 458 Lott, for...
