I've seen a bunch of comparisons between the Ares Gen1 and PST Gen 2 but can't find anything on the Ares Gen 2. I'm most interested in the x15 power range. I'm also indifferent if it's 1st or 2nd focal plan. I want to know glass quality and turret reliability and feel. Thanks in advance for...
Thoughts on these two scopes? I see the good price on the Bushnell on GAP but I've never used mils. I found a nice Sig in MOA which is what I'm used too. I'm most concerned with tracking reliability. My other two rifles wear MOA scopes already and I'm not replacing them anytime soon. So I'm...
I'm shooting the 215 Berger at 2950fps out of a a 300 Win. Mag w/26" barrel. The 215 Berger has a shorter bearing surface then the 210 Berger and you can potentially push it a little faster. I had a 7RM built around the 180 Berger because of the high BC, but I couldn't get above 2830fps with...
Myself and most of the successful bow hunters I know use Predator Fall Brown/Gray or ASAT. I don't like camo that tries to make you look like a tree or bush. Past about 40yds., most of them turn into a dark blob. Predator and ASAT work to break up your outline and doesn't blob out. The stuff...
When I use the "Get Target Azimuth" on my Droid, I get some negative readings. Instead of 0*, 90*, 180* and 270*, I get up to 180* and then it starts with negative numbers. -170*, -160* etc. and due west is -90*. Is there a setting to change this? I can't find it anywhere.
Nice bull!!!! I would like to hear more about the performance of the bullet. Pass through? Etc... I shot the 180's last year but only shot an antelope and a whitetail with them. Decided to go back to the 168's this year. Wasn't unhappy with the 180's, just the 168's shoot a little better...
Never said that they both wouldn't take game. I use the 215 grain Hybrids in my 300 Win. Mag and they work great. Just wanted to clarify that the Hunting VLD's have a thinner jacket then the Target VLD's.
Nope. People get this wrong all the time. From the Berger website on the FAQ Page: What is the difference between your bullet types? (Target/Tactical/Varmint/Hunting) Our Target and Tactical bullets are designed with thicker jackets that withstand more stress before bullet degradation...
I may be reading what you're saying wrong. But I want to clarify. The target bullets have the thicker jackets to stand up to longer shooting strings. The hunting version have the thinner jacket.
I stopped shooting over a chronograph a few years ago. I've had some loads with a low ES shoot terrible at 500 yds and beyond, and I've had loads with a bad ES shoot good out to 1000 yds. Anymore all I do is sight in at 100 yds. then move my target to 500 yds. and start load testing. If I...
