Call Savage. Mine wore out and I called Savage. After I explained what was going on, they just sent me the spring, extractor and the other extractor-looking thing for free.
I use a paddle holster, usually a serpa. I clip the paddle on the padded waist belt of my pack. It is really comfortable and right in the same location on my body as it always is.
After checking all the shops around here at least twice a week, I finally got two pounds of varget this week. They had three pounds on the shelf but there was a max purchase of two per customer.
Re: 45-70 behaviors... anyone out there expreienced? I had an 1895 45-70 about five years ago. I shot Hornady 350gr. jacketed flat points. The harder I pushed them, the better the groups. If I backed off, the groups fell apart. I tried some 405 hard cast. Same story. I finally traded...

Re: .38/.357 Reloading I have reloaded lots of 357 and 38. I really like shooting medium velocity 38s in a 357 revolver. I don't have any great recipes off the top of my head but I have found that loading for a revolver is very easy. I crimp mine just to make dang sure that the bullets...
Re: Hey SAVAGE MKII owners! help me! I had an FV but I wasn't happy with the tupperware stock. Mostly the shape, not so much the weight. This time around I got the BV. I like the stock. I painted mine tan. I just made this 1/8" thick aluminum bottom metal. It uses the unused third action...
