I would appreciate advice from anyone using a rear monopod as to optimal technique. I have learned that every force on the rifle that disturbs the natural point of aim will impact accuracy. I have also learned that every force on the rifle needs to be reproducuble and similar with every shot...
We get the last laugh when the hoarders try to shoot their ammo. I find 22 to be relatively perishable. I have always been able to find match ammo on internet, just not necessarily the brand and price I would want. When whoever is hoarding the ammo gets a few duds, those of us that shoot the...
manners cz Here is my Lija/CZ 452 on my Hyde Manners stock rebarrelled by John Whidden and some 50 yd targets. I bedded it at put in a Timney trigger. Thinking about a more powerful scope as it seems to be accurate enough to use it. My crappy eyes are curretly looking through a Viper...
Too many good choices these days. My hands are not big enough for the usp and 1911 s are great if they are custom made and reliable but single action carrying cocked and locked is a potential liability. So among the many good choices that are double action like Glock, USP compact Sig...
One more vote for Meopta Meostar. The 56 objective version gathers light well. I have a 2-12x56 one as well as March Ior Valdada, Nightforce, Vortex Viper and can and have compared them. You have to pay a lot more to do better than Meopta.
I rebarreled a 452 with a Lija threaded barrel and restocked it on a Manners stock. Yes the price adds up but it shoots better than before. I have several 5 shot groups in the .1s and lots in the .2s with Eley tenex. With other ammo it shoots more like .3s. I just posted 6 consecutive 5 shot...
Does anyone else seem to look through the upper inner corner of their glasses when rifle shooting? The glass lenses are ground to be optically correct right in front of the pupil in center of lense and when looking through the corner next to the bridge there is distortion. Years ago I tried...
Does noone use bullet flight? It has defaults for militery ammo and corialis spin drift etc It seems to be accurate and I compare it to what I get off Quickload and see in real world and it works well
I see great reviews for ESS products recently. I had a pair with rx inserts years ago when they first came out and there was so much distortion I stopped wearing them. I do not know if it was the inserts made locally or if it was the exterior colored lenses. My question is anyone wearing...
I started using etymotic gsp-15 in ear protectors. They work great. They can also amplify sound like when you are in a deer stand and yet clip the loud gunshot sounds. When I am at the range I usually use headphones as well as ear plugs. The etymotic ear plugs are pricy but at around $400...
shoots good It shoots around 1/3 to 1/4 inch at 50 and about 1 at 100 and about 2-3 at 200. I just put some pics. The black pic at 200 was shot by a friend with same rifle. How handy you replied, I was trying to figure out how to reply to your earlier post. I am currious if your rifle is...
CZ452 modified I had a cz 452 American and have kept changing it. It still has CZ action but John Whidden put a Lija barrel on it and I bedded it on a Manners stock. Has a picatinny rail for bipod and scope, a Timney trigger set just over 2# and a viper 6.5-20x. I just put a new bolt knob...
I just wanted to mention for those looking at stocks how much I like the whiskey chassis. I debated on the AICS but saw a sale from the vendor on the hide and got the W3. It is tremendous. I really like the ergonomics. It is rigid, the pistol grip fits my avg sized hand and it has a groove...
Re: Stainless Steel Media Testimonials I use traditional vibratory cleaner then do all brass prep, trimming and use the stainless media as the final touch as the brass looks new and gets all the lubricant and everything shiny new. Also it is great for cleaning baffles for silencer. Nothing...
