Re: North Texas Meeting on Suppressed Hunting Be There I wish I dropped by here a little sooner. I didn't have much to do that day and could have come. Hopefully it will go through...my boy will be old enough to start shooting/hunting soon and I don't want him to end up half deaf like me.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Carrying Concealed (how do you do it ?)

Re: Carrying Concealed (how do you do it ?) I carry OWB at 4-5 o'clock, but I usually carry revolvers. Lately though, I've been carrying my P3AT in a pocket holster. Not a fan of IWB carry unless it's something thin like a 1911.

Dial Caliper- where to start. + Newbie Stuff.

Re: Dial Caliper- where to start. + Newbie Stuff. I use Brown and Sharpe or Mitutoyo, although I do have a set of Starrett master series vernier calipers. Regardless of brand or what the display says, calipers aren't good for anything better than a .001" measurement. Resolution and accuracy...

Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications

Re: Caliber Choices - Comparison and Applications Good thread. I'm about to start building a savage, and I'm pretty well set on 7mm-08 as the chambering. It doesn't seem very popular for LR use, but from ballistics charts it appears to be a pretty good choice, and should have better barrel...

Gunsmithing Can this thread protector be fixed ?

Re: Can this thread protector be fixed ? That's a horrible job. Looks like something a green trainee would put out. There are several ways to go about fixing what you have, some of which I saw listed in earlier posts(I didn't read them all). It would be faster to just turn a new one though...
