Suppressors Suppressor indexing on threads (vs muzzle or shoulder)

Well I've been meaning to get into .260 at some point. I'm just annoyed... my guess is that Remington threaded this guy to pretty much just work with aac cyclones. Are new rem 700 aac-sd's threaded this way still?

Suppressors Suppressor indexing on threads (vs muzzle or shoulder)

Hi guys, So I have a new 30p-1 can and a Remington 700 aac-sd. I'm noticing that the 30p-1 is not really indexing on anything than the threads. If you look at how the barrel is threaded, it's slightly wider at the base where the threading stops. This width, I believe, is thicker than...

    Suppressors Removing AAC Brake Shims

Thanks everyone for the help. Submerged barrel tip in boiling water. I then used vice grips to squeeze the shims (extremely carefully). The shims were crushed and popped off! I actually had 3 shims on there (I was super anal about indexing correctly and guess I needed 3 to get that last degree).

    Suppressors Removing AAC Brake Shims

Shims look like stainless steel to me. I'll see if I can use a thread protector to make sure things are safe before I do anything with tools and the shims. Boiling water first though. Will update my progress friday or saturday.

    Suppressors Removing AAC Brake Shims

Ah I didn't use hot water, I'll give that a go. Tried to pry them with a small knife but couldn't get even the thinest part of the blade under them.

    Suppressors Removing AAC Brake Shims

Hello, I just picked up my thunderbeast 30p-1 and want to give it a go on my 700. Previously, I was using my SDN-6 and so I've had an AAC 51t Brake on there. I was able to remove the brake just fine, but the I cannot figure out how to remove the two indexing shims (see below). I've tried...

Gunsmithing How to Install Flush cups, Pics inside.

Re: How to Install Flush cups, Pics inside. Thanks for the write up! Is there a place where the flush cups can be purchased online? I can't find them listed anywhere. Do I just call grovtec? Think a Bell and Carlson stock can take them? Probably also hollow like the HS Precision. (My...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Who likes revolvers?

Re: Who likes revolvers? I love shooting .38 wadcutters out of my old model 66. I think it's the simplicity of the recoil that makes me enjoy it so much. I'm not really into them for 'practical' purposes though.

    Cleaning and accuracy fall-off

I wanted to get a few different data-points on how many rounds people send through their rifles without cleaning before they find accuracy begins to fall-off. I'm particularly interested in .308, but would love to hear about other calibers as well.

Best place to buy an HDMR?

Re: Best place to buy an HDMR? Hmmm, looks like they don't have the HDMR in their catalog. (have the g2dmr coming back in stock tomorrow). I will check in with them tomorrow. Any other recommendations? *Sorry just noticed I posted this in the rifle section rather than the optics section.

    Subsonic .22 Ammo

Re: Subsonic .22 Ammo CCI standard seems to excel in just about everything (and it's a sub-sonic). Really not much more expensive than bulk stuff (if you buy it in bulk).
