Re: Stick powder + Dillon Powder dispenser = @#$%$#@$% I have a 550 RL also and have the same problems. Is there a powder that burns as slowly as RL25 in ball? I'm also using AR2225, same question?
Re: Problems with RL25 in 338LM? How far off the lands are you setting your projectiles? I use 94grns flat of RL25 that are about kissing the lands and getting some good results. Are you using magnum primers? There are so many factors involved. Good luck and please keep us up with what...
Re: 338Lapua Magnum - Barnes Bullets The only reason I'm using these little pills is to get the rifle off the range and into the bush to do some hunting with it. The 250grain Lapua rounds are built for longer ranges surely. I was looking for a projectile that would return a flatter...
Re: Press for 338 lapua +1 to this suggestion. Getting accurate powder withing .1 of a grain is not possible with my 550, also getting accurate COL at the ogive is more predictable with a single stage like the RCBS. my 2 cents. Max
Re: 338Lapua Magnum - Barnes Bullets I just looked up the BC of the 160 - quoted as .342 so it's pretty low and should get around 3600+fps out of the muzzle. Going to zero it at 200 and would imagine it will be flat as. Cheers
Re: 338Lapua Magnum - Barnes Bullets I'm going out for a shot tonight - spotlighting. Anything outside 350yards the scope can't draw enough light so I'm going to use it between 200 and 300 yards over a spotlight. I've been shooting the thing at the range a lot. Time to get it out and...
Hi everyone, I'm looking at trying 225grn TTSX from Barnes as a hunting load. My local dealer advised me to load the projectiles at least 50 Thou off the lands. While this gets the length of the cartridge down to a length that will fit in the magazine, I'm concerned that a jump that...
Re: .338 Bullet Test, *Pic Heavy* They look a lot awesome. I have read reports from Europe that you have to have a gain twist barrel to make them work. Are you any closer to having them work in a stock barrel, say a TRG42? Cheers. Max
Re: trg 42 338LM muzzle brake-? about installation Be a little cautious when tightening the allen key bolt. I broke one using a torque wrench. You only have to tighten it so the compensator isn't turning by hand.
Re: Reloading Steps help If you trim then resize you'll find your cases will be all different lengths. Full length resize, then trim. The full length resize will put the squeeze on the case. I add another step between every other reload. Ream the inside of the neck. If you're using hot...
Re: reloading 338 Lapua Magnum Questions-trg 42 Mines a 1 in 12 bloke so my information would not be relevant methinks. Good luck with the new toy. Max
Hi guys, sitting in the shed going through my case preparation, and had a question for those who know such things: How does the 338LM chamber? i.e. 9mm pistols chamber on the case neck. Does the 338LM chamber on the ends of the case in the neck, or on the shoulder or it is...
