First off i apologize if this has been covered before. I shoot prs and my 9 year old wants to start shooting with me. He already shoot to distance with his howa 223. That gun is too big for him and the twist is 1:12 so for playing at club shoots its really a no go. He shoots my M&P sport...
My 8 yr old loves to shoot with me. He has a 10/22 that fits him well but for longer stuff he suffers through a full size 223. I so far haven' been able to come up with a good way to makeup a rifle for him with the 10.5 lop he needs without breaking the bank. What options have members here come...
I have been shooting long range for over a year and every gun that I shoot off a bipod jumps to the left on the shot. I have tried a lot. Different load pressure, different body angles, different bipod. No matter what on all shots the rifle settles to the left. On my 5r milspec it's about...
I am wondering what would be a good fixed 10 scope for under say $1200. I shoot a 308 on my home ranges out to 1100 yards or so. I don't shoot competitions ( might one day for giggles). My current vortex goes to 16X and I only go that high to use my retical since it's a sfp. I mostly use...
Thanks Kopjager that article helped alot. Being an honors Calculus teacher the science and math makes sense. I was under the impression that the last half had the most influence. In fact at the end of my first third was a row of trees in a draw that are perpendicular to the winds direction...
Thanks guys. I have a kestrel and that's how I knew my winds at me. Yes there was two draws between. Me and the target. One containing a creek and trees and one that is real steep. I may hang some ribbon to help see that wind and the effects around it.
Howdy, first question here. I have been shooting longrange since this summer and my biggest deficiency is judging the wind down. Range. For example today I was shooting and everything was fine until I got to my 918 yard target. The wind at my location was coming from the 11 o'clock at 9 to 13...
Just saying howdy. Long time lurking just now registering. I shoot a 308 on my home range. Been at it since this summer with good results, even hit a 12"plate at 1146 yards on the 6th shot. Enough bragging. Just here to learn and ask stupid questions.
