LMT Barrel conversion review and accuracy report, before conversion vs. after D Wilson conversion

Yesterday, I shot at 636 yards with this rifle, it was one of those rare days where there was very little wind at my house. I am so impressed with this rifle/barrel, equally impressed with the vortex 1-10. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make accurate hits at distance with this type of optic...

    I Spy New Baby Razor G3 4-24

I might have missed it, but when do you think these will be released? Looking for new scope for my LMT 6.5 20", this checks all the boxes

    XM7 worries from the field.

I agree with all of that. Also, lots of government contracts are worded in a very specific way that provides favor to a very specific firm. I'm not saying that's necessarily what happened with either the pistol or the rifle programs, but it would not be surprising at all. If there was no...

    Gas Gun Groups Thread

A similar charge of 8208 and a 77 smk or a 73 Berger shoots well in every AR I've tried. I have found that if a rifle won't shoot that combination well, it probably needs a barrel replacement

    AR Positional POI Shift Test

I have two different Factory LMT barrels, but a gunsmith named D Wilson can convert virtually any standard AR-15 Barrel to work with the LMT quick change barrel system I had him convert a 16" Bartlein barrel a few months ago, it is an absolute tack driver now, Factory LMT barrels in 5.56 have...

American Ammunition Company 77gr SMK HPBT

Has anybody chrono'd recent Sierra match King version in 77 grains? I never had great luck with the AAC/Hornady 77 grain AAC offering, it was fast, but 2 MOA larger sample size for me in my rifles. Still really nice for the money, pretty much the same price as 55 FMJ The genuine 77 Sierra...

    XM7 worries from the field.

I'm just a guy who enjoys shooting and training, I've never been in the military. That said, this Sig rifle seems to miss the mark on so many obvious levels. Not to mention the very significant increase in weight and reduced ammunition both in the rifle and in the soldier's loadout, the other...

    Gas Gun Groups Thread

Those 77 Bergers are impressive, especially that 24.1 grain group! I've also been very impressed with 73 grain Berger OTMs. Those are a lot easier for me to find, especially in 1000 bullet boxes. I shot a 10 round 100 yard group in the rain today with my LMT/Bartlein 223, I'm so impressed...

    Gas Gun Groups Thread

LMT 6.5 CM shoots pretty good too. I'm personally very happy with any semi-auto rifle that can shoot 1 MOA 10 round groups. These are more rare than people think.

    Gas Gun Groups Thread

I didn't build my LMT to be a benchrest gun, but it's more than accurate enough for my needs. I live in a very rural area with a lot of land and some wide open spaces. I wanted a general-purpose rifle with a DMR type focus. Most of my 10-round 100 yards groups are in the .8" range, some in the...

    Criterion barrel brass pressure signs

If you click on my profile and search threads I posts, there are some with load data and range results for my Criterion. I haven't strayed much from IMR 8208 with handloads in this rifle, but 77 SMK's, 73 Bergers, 77 Bergers, and 60 grain Hornady Vmax's shot tight groups without much fuss. I...

    Criterion barrel brass pressure signs

That's disappointing for sure. I have a Criterion 16" Hybrid that is factory nitrided 416R stainless and it does really well with 23.3 - 23.5 grains of 8208 XBR and 77 SMK's. My COL is around or just under 2.250", this load shoots very consistently well 10 round groups for me in both the...

LMT Barrel conversion review and accuracy report, before conversion vs. after D Wilson conversion

I have those on my LMT 6.5, they are outstanding. I'm actually trying to keep this rifle pretty lightweight, although the barrel profile a bit heavier than Factory LMT. Barrel profile is one thing that I'm willing to add a little weight on. I know they don't add much, but I'm even avoiding...

LMT Barrel conversion review and accuracy report, before conversion vs. after D Wilson conversion

Just an update regarding Berger 73 grain BT's, they are awesome with IMR 8208 XBR, this was with cheap Starline 5.56 brass

LMT Barrel conversion review and accuracy report, before conversion vs. after D Wilson conversion

This Bartlein barrel from Craddock Precision continues to do really well in my LMT. I think I'm going to switch to Berger 73 grain OTM'S. These bullets shoot really well in my three primary AR rifles. I don't seem to get any real flyers, and bullet dimensions are very consistent. They are...
