    How important is AW mag compatibility to you? Would you buy a non-AW cut action in 2025?

    Seems like a lot of them never work right. If I truly want AW mags I'm buying the whole AI rifle. Aics mags don't bother me on a custom build.

    I didn't tune anything. 24.5g of varget and .020 off the lands and I ran it. Shoots around 1/2 moa or less.

    I love 223 in a bolt gun. I shoot 77 and 80smk bullets. I'm running a bighorn origin action with accurate mags and it feeds like butter, never a problem. I'd definitely go 1:7 twist. Virtually every AR is a 1:7 where the majority of ammo being shot is 55g ball, why go slower for a bolt gun...

    I did end up getting one for ARs because they're pretty available so I figured why not. The cleaning rods definitely stay in better shape when using a guide.
