Took the R700 223 Wylde with 80.5g Bergers out again this evening. Shot 10 rounds at 1040 yards at the 20" plate. CB was just over the top, the next 9 is what you see. Wind was pretty light at 1-2mph and consistent, but every now and again it would pick up just a tad. 8 of the 10 went into around 10" Not great, not horrible. I'll take it for what it is.

Beautiful, That 223 is banging on the door of same territory as .308 dropping-in 175 smk's ...LOL
.

It’s funny how many people sleep on what the 223 can accomplish with the right combo and a good shooter.

I saw first-hand many (great) shooters holding exceptional 20-shot groups at 1,000 yards with open sights and the little 5.56.

I wasn't good enough to be competitive with them, but I was good enough to get to compete with them. :D

Just go to a local Palma match. Plenty of guys shoot .223 now vs .308. The 80.5 bergers and the 85.5s really let the .223 shine.

Plus, cheaper components and less recoil helps with a 4 day long range match
I want to try the 80.5 and see how they do against the 80SMK since they seem to be the easy button for me currently
