How are Mcmillan, the machinist, and the painter taking a hit. It's all covered by the courier and covered under insurance. Which they sell for such occasions, would it not be helping mcmillan, the machinist, and the painter by giving more business at full rate? Your right, a brand new stock...- mcmuffin

The bolt cutout came that way from McMillan on the original stock to fit their G30 action, maybe they will do something different on this round of the stock, but, where the main crack that bothers me is in front of the trigger set. As much as I'd love to not wait for a new stock, it's not right to have to get the one I paid for repaired. It would be like buying a new car, and when the dealer is pulling it around for you they crash it and tell you they will fix it, I know that not a single person here would settle for that...- mcmuffin

Yes, it was insured and it Is being completely paid for. What has me is the time it will take to replace it. Originally I was told not to ship in a pelican, less conspicuous kind of thing. I would recommend, only because I've been building a rifle myself, find the gunsmith you want to do your work, tell him/her what it is your trying to accomplish and they will give you an idea of how best to approach it and what parts to order, it's hard to pin 20+ years of guns smithing...- mcmuffin

With using those larger bullets do I need to worry about burning through my barrel more quickly at my 1:12 rate as opposed to a 1:10? I guess with buying a more powerful scope I can always carry it to another rifle later, I'll just be sure not to tell the wife so I can buy another with the next...- mcmuffin

Thats a beautiful set up, How did you get the Harris to sit snug on the fore end of the stock? When I installed mine the front of my stock was too flat to properly seat the bipod against it securely. With going into the 5-25 range, from what I had understood your putting an optic on the rifle that will overpower the rounds being fired. With a lower power optic it kinda keeps your shooting within it's limits. Please, I'm always looking for insight and would much appreciate the reasoning...- mcmuffin
