If I were to put together a hunting rifle I'd choose a different scope. The k525i is a heavy tactical scope which seems like an odd match for a lightweight hunting rifle. Sort of defeats the purpose in my mind. I would have went with a lightweight hunting scope for that rifle, something along...
Looked. Couldn't find one. I did find pictures of their newer rifles with a standard style castle nut but they still aren't staked. Even their standard style castle nut doesn't have the recesses for the end plate to be staked into it. Almost like they designed it to not be staked...
Some manufacturers' end plates aren't designed to be staked, KAC's QD end plate is one example. I think it's probably like everything else with the AR-15. Buy quality stuff and you won't have issues. Buy cheap shit with loose tolerances and you just might.
