I have multiple barrels from Straight Jacket Armory and Proof Research. 6 Dasher 6 creed, 6.5 6 GT and 308 no conplaint on ant of them. The SJA are a nit more expensive but there Benchmark blanks and I've seen more rounds fired threw them .
No issues with my other optics I just can't get a crisp sight picture zeroing. As long as it isn't a problem at distance I don't care as but I use a red printed grid target that I is constantly blurry
Right ..... cost of nominal sizes and availability of nominal over special order sizing. Usually is still more cost effective with shorter lead times. At least in our shop. We're one of the largest tool manufacturers in the world. So being able to source material from any available...
Don't over think my reply .... it's a statement of nominal materials save money 1.5 reference I'd for when someone mentioned round actions. No rail no lug
In shops it's more cost effective to buy nominal sized materials and cut them down . So starting with a 1.5 round stock vs special sizes like 1.4 cost less
In a PRS senario. The Proof Comp contour prefits will add a addition few beneficial pounds over a 1.06 diameter barrel. Sure accuracy will be about the same.
