I had several hours of trying to connect the Kestrel to work with the app. I managed to get it working. It only worked when I turned bluetooth on and pared the Kestrel while the app was open, when you do it this way Genesis says searching for bluetooth devices. It doesn't work if you already...

"The user can also share data files with ColdBore© Desktop edition." How would this be done, instructions would be nice. I have bought the app for my phone and have the ColdBore desktop software, not sure how to proceed from a workflow point of view?

I think I will wait until after SHOT show next year. Knowing my luck NK will release a new model then. I fell into that trap with the 4500 AB, NK stopped supporting it soon after I bought it; when the 5700 was released.

Howdy all, I have been holding off upgrading my Kestrel 4500 AB for a few years now as it still works just fine. Tossing up between the 5700 Elite or the 5700X, just wondering if the X is worth the extra $$? Cheers Dan

I rinse mine in 50:50 water methylated spirits solution for a spot free dry; the metho helps the water evaporate faster. Depending on the weather; I put them on a baking tray to dry in the sun or 50 degrees C fan forced oven.
