I'm sorry some of the arguments above crack me up. Here is my $0.02: The factory Remington Action is WAY behind the power curve. If you look at any custom action it is either perfectly round (a tube) or much thicker and in an octagon shape design. The remington is not a perfectly round...
Well I'm FINALLY able to get away for a day and come up to shoot. New baby has been keeping me tied up for a while now. Looking for a shooting partner for Sunday. Prefer min/min but I can convert quickly for anyone. Thank you, Merritt
My alexander arms barrel shoots bugholes with my handloads. Lapua brass made a huge difference over hornady and my hornady brass only lasted 3 reloads anyway. I had a blackhole barrel that fed fine but it wasnt a tight shooter. Best I could get was about 1.2moa. Id have 4 grouped perfectly...
I agree with the discription given by rdsii. However I have no problem using mine in my competition rifle because I ran an M16a4 in the Marines for years that didnt have a trigger half as nice as my ALG and it doesnt bother me one bit. For the money I dont think you can beat the ALG.. Just...
I had a MCS-T and loved it. I went to an AICS AX because I needed something with more weight because I changed to a long action magnium caliber and wanted to be able to watch my shots go down range. My suggestion is if your shooting almost exlusively prone and have a large caliber round then...
My rig kicks like a puppy dog which you can see from the attached video. I do have a 4 port brake on it but the kick is equal or less than a 223 version of the same rifle with a flash hidder. I would highly recommend the grendel and I will be running it much more next year in matches...
I run a Kreiger heavy target on mine. it does a great job and I have had zero issues with it. On trigger I went Timney but I run alot of tactical matches and don't want to run a 1lb trigger. Also Jewel wouldn't fit into my AX chassis without modification to the chassis. Good luck, Merritt
Its because you are limited to how far you can neck out the higher BC bullets to meet the lands when you are locked into a semi auto magazine fed OAL. For instance my bolt gun with a 7-08 I was necked out to 2.910 oal. I needed that length when running the 162s to get close to the lands. If...
I do love the 7mm-08 but there is another 7mm id run in an ar-10. Mark from SAC has developed a 7mm creedmore. This would give you a shorter OAL with almost identical ballistics. This would be a huge advantage and allow you to test with the 162s set out to give you much more case capacity...
