I use these on my begara 22 and centerfire rifles, you can use the 22 version in a centerfire but not the other way around. https://www.yow-tech.com/product-page/mag-flag-vudoo-v-22-aics
It would have to be a killer deal, at the prices listed on their site I could put together a custom action, carbon barrel and stock for less. And I'm sure it would be better, and cheaper.
After their demo of the new 7 PRC on an Elk I'd never buy a rifle from the company. Shot the animal at long distance just because they could. Drive down a dirt road, pull over and shoot an elk over 1000 yards to make a video. Didn't make a good shot IMO, needed a followup anyway. Poor ethics
I had one in 6.5 CM, over 2500 rounds down the barrel and it still shoots great, as good as any other rifle I own. Kept waiting for it to start shooting poorly but it hadn't happened. Sold it to a friend lcheap to start learning, he's still shooting it.
Don't think I've every heard that cheaper rifles like Savages aren't accurate. In fact that is seldom disputed. It's the smoothness, extraction, etc, that sets the nicer actions apart, not the accuracy. My original savage I bought for learning long range is still just as accurate as my custom...
I like my all of my Cronus scopes, I have three, but the Burris 3-18 is is really good too, especially at that price. I have the 3-18 with the SCR reticle and the 5.5-30 with the SCR2 reticle. I'd say the XTRIII vs the Cronus is close in glass, XTR has a wider view, reticle is good in both, I...
While I liked my savages when I started, I only have one left. They were accurate, just not as refined. These days I'd buy and action, a prefit barrel and trigger, put it in stock or chassis of your choice.
That's why my 6.5 PRC is on a tikka action. Just didn't see the point in the 7mm 162 over the 156 that works without having to expand the brass to 7mm for what I think isn't a better bullet. If you're going 7mm, I'm going to load 180's.
I don't understand why a medium or long action makes a difference in this case. The 156 is longer than the 162, I understand that either one would need to be shortened to less than maximum length to fit in a SA mag. But if I'm going to expand a 6.5 PRC case to 7mm I would be looking to run a...
Looks like the still have the Athlon Ares at Walmart for 565, I bought one, third one for me and a buddy got another for his .22. They're a good deal, eyebox is a bit tight at max power but I like their reticles and it's easy to get behind below max power...
My 10/22's are good to 250 yards, I was thinking I'd use one at the next rimfire match instead of my Begara in a MPA chassis. But I currently have a Bergara in a MPA chassis.
