    Everything else equal, I was leaning toward the Vortex, its 1/3 lbs lighter. This assumes of course that the glass is roughly equivalent. All seem well reviewed but its hard to get a comparison between other similar scopes. Nope shops around here carry them, so I can't lay hands myself.

    I wasn't sure how I felt about it when I made the choice, but I really like it now. I have really long arms so I get fully extent my arm and still grip it. Plus, I agree, it will look really good with a can.

    Here is the finished product: Not the greatest picture, but was having trouble getting good lighting. I ended up going with the 15" rail mainly because thats all I could get my hands on, and I got it for the same price as the 12" (the dealer made a mistake, ordered the 12" off their site...

    I was originally looking at the 1.5-8x but it only comes with the 5.56 drop reticle. What a shame.

    I'll keep that in mind for the future. When I get a full time job (I'm a grad student currently) I'll be upgrading all my glass. Hell, I shouldn't even be buying all the guns I've been buying lately, but gotta get em while the gettin's good.

    Cool, will check that out as well. Might add Bushnell Elite Tactical LRS Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 3-12x 44mm Side to the mix. I actually prefer mil/mil scopes, for some reason the links to the Vortex scopes show up as MOA.
