    FRAUD ALERT -- MIDWEST POWDERS

BE AWARE: Midwest Powders has an internet site that advertises in-stock reloading powders at good prices. However, after sending a PayPal amount following a message from Midwest Powders confirming my order, and where they requested that I send the order payment to a specific individual, I tried...

If the 44 special brass is still available, what's the quantity? Thank you.

Can a SB die still be used to bump the shoulder like a FL?

Now just for chuckles, there's also another option to squeeze down the case near the head, but not touch the shoulder. This is what a SB body die does. Doesn't touch the shoulder or neck.

Can a SB die still be used to bump the shoulder like a FL?

The only difference between a SB die and a FL die is that the SB squeezes the case to a lesser dimension closer to the head of the cartridge than a FL die will. The shoulder set-back is determined how far you set the SB die towards the case holder, just like with a FL die.

GM -- thank you for the Cream of Tartar trick. I'll give 'er a try.

Any reason NOT to use TSP to clean brass w/ stainless?

Buddy of mine indicated that he uses TSP when cleaning brass with stainless pins. Does anybody know any reasons that TSP should not be used? If OK, TSP is stronger than Dawn and and appears to do a great job quickly.

    Seating 223 flat based bullets

Thank all of you for your kind input. Using the Giraud gives me a pretty good, even chamfer on the brass when trimming. Like Josh, I've got big hands and just enough arthritus to make sitting the projectile on top of the case, and then running it up into the seating stem a bit of a challenge...

    Seating 223 flat based bullets

Guys -- got a question regarding how to start seating flat based bullets for 223. I want to use my Dillon 550b, with LC brass trimmed and chamfered with a Giraud to seat Hornady 55 gr flat based bullets. I'm planning to lightly crimp using a Lee 223 crimp die as my stage 4. Is there some way...

    Nosler Custom

Nosler Ballistic Tips are awesome for a hunting round. In my bolt 308 the 180 grain projectile also happens to be the most accurate reasonably priced projectile I can find to use at 400+ yards.

    Crimp AR10 Loads?

I've never had to crimp in my RRA LAR-8.

Who is using IMI brass in .308?

Couple of years ago I reloaded a bunch for plinking around with my FAL. Never had any problems with it, but have now switched pretty much to LC because of better availability.

    Good powder thrower/scale combo

I agree on the RCBS Chargemaster. To improve it further, check on the threads on SH to see how to do minor mods to further improve the accuracy of the charge.

    Advice on single stage press

I've used a Rock Chucker for over 25 years and it is still as good as new. Load all my rifle cartridges on the RC, and use a Dillon 550B for all my pistol reloads. Have no desire for anything else.

    First Case Head Seperation

roggom -- thank you. Are you saying that because of the case head separation, that the pressure of the burning powder was allowed to escape from inside the cartridge and instead build up in the chamber itself, thus allowing the pressure inside the ruptured case to be less than the outside...

    Primer rupture help

As I've stated on a couple of other threads, I've had this issue occur several times on LC brass when I've used Winchester LR primers. Changed to CCI and the problem has disappeared. However, I have not had any issues with Winchester large pistol primers, but I'm snake-bit now and have quit...
