    I am not sure using just a micrometer to measure the oal is that accurate. I use a mircometer and a Hornandy insert for the caliber which measures from the ogive/shoulder interface. The tips on SMK's can vary a bit which is not indicitive of your real OALor seating depth which is what matters...

    Warning- Anschutz 54 rifles not safe to dry fire

    I used those cheap plastic snap caps. They last about five pulls. I've used old cases and the seem to work as long as they are rotated to a new spot. Sometimes they are a little tough to chamber but not god awful bad.
